Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa K. Satchell.
Lisa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As long as I can remember I’ve been the friend who everyone came to for advice or a good laugh. Helping people and entertaining them was always something that made me happy.
In high school, I decided to start a YouTube channel and I wanted a clever way to include my name but also convey that this was a place people could come to relax. That’s how the find Find Relisa came. It was like find release but with my name, Lisa.
Over time I kept making YouTube videos and soon I also started a blog. My brand basically became my identity around my college. People would literally think my name was Relisa and Lisa was a nickname. When I was in school I thought that was funny and great. After graduation, I started realizing I wanted to make a name for myself outside of just my brand.
When I first moved to LA, I was kind of on a soul searching journey without even realizing it. My relationship with God got deeper and deeper which led me to really realizing my purpose. I’m a motivator, storyteller, influencer, and an entrepreneur. Once I realized that I had to understand how to use my brand and my name to really represent that. The good news is, I was already pretty close to it. There were only a few adjustments to make.
The most beautiful thing is I’ve come to an understanding of how all these things work together. Find Relisa is a brand where Lisa K. Satchell can give advice, share life, and help people through what they’re facing. I’ve come to know that my brand and my identity are separate, which is exciting!
Now I’m working on building up my audience and reach more people. Overall I want Find Relisa to be a Lifestyle and Spiritual brand that people can turn to for release.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest struggle has honestly been my consistency. In our generation, we tend to want to see results fast. I was no different. If I didn’t get the views I wanted on YouTube or IGTV, I would just quit. Or if I didn’t see people actually reading my blog posts, I’d be less consistent. And if people weren’t following me on social media, I stopped posting so often.
But now I’m doing better! Rather than focusing on just my numbers, I’ve started to focus on just continuously making good consistent content. The followers will come when they need to come. Right now I do have people, friends, and family who look at my content. It’s helping and motivating the audience I have now, which is the most important thing.
Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
My brand is great for motivation, positivity, and transparency. People often tell me they are going through the same things I shared or what I post really speaks to them. That’s honestly the biggest victory for me. Knowing that someone feels comforted, motivated, or even might get a laugh out of something I post is so great to me.
What sets me apart from other Lifestyle and Spiritual brands is my transparency and duality. I love talking about my life, sometimes I just talk about clothes, sometimes I share a scripture, sometimes I’m talking about music and TV shows, and sometimes I share funny memes. I’d like to think of myself as a fun friend who will motivate you, talk about God, and then also talk about the newest songs on the radio.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I don’t think luck has played much of a role. I do believe is moments that I didn’t see coming that were fully orchestrated by God and a result of my work. A few examples have been when I got to be in a music video recently or when a brand sent me clothes to post on my Instagram. All of those things came because I was posting consistently and they liked what I stood for. I didn’t see those things coming, but when they did I understood it was because of the work I did and God bringing that work to the right people’s attention.
