Meet Lisa The Ambitious Butterfly of Ambitious Models

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa The Ambitious Butterfly.

Lisa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ambitious Models started in 2010. I started this company because I’ve noticed that this industry whether you are a Model, Artist, Designer or Actress it is difficult especially if you don’t have the right tools or someone to guide you. I started as a model in South Florida first. Which was very difficult. I ran into some bad photographers who took my money and made money off my photos, bad agents who had no clue about this industry and felt like all models needed to be a size two which was not true. So I took it upon myself to do my own research. I started to train my self to become a model and a personal stylist. Remind you I didn’t start doing this with a snap of a finger. I was still going to school. I had to keep my grades up, had a full-time job and getting bullied. Tough Huh….?

Through all of this, I kept going and pushing my self to make sure I achieve every project I created. I started teaching myself how to walk, pose, putting looks together to the point where I became a personal stylist.

I had a few mentors. People in modeling agencies, top photographers in the industry who taught me everything I needed to know.

As my time in the modeling world, I met two of my best photographers that I still work with as of today. Both of them taught me so much to the point where I started getting upset because it now made sense lol.

Little by little, I notice that this industry needed me. I started meeting models from all over the world. Who asked me to train them and help them because they needed support. They were getting rip off. Agencies were taking their money and calling them fat and they only weight 120lbs, photographers were using them by selling their photos. I had to put a stop to this because this was bringing back memories from my past and being bullied. I started helping and mentoring girls around the world. I’ve helped several models get into the biggest agency such as Ford,Wilhelmina, just to name a few. Teaching girls how to master their walk, building portfolios , the list went on. “I notice I was changing people’s lives and missing the model life.” Lol.

I took a pause and started modeling again. I summited my self to Miami Fashion Week, Swim Week, etc. I’ve gotten accepted in fashion week and started hitting the runway. Yet alone, I met some amazing designers, Professional catwalk trainers who told me I am doing such an amazing job and to “always keep that walk down the runway! ”
Through this journey, there was one designer who stands out to me the most. I’ve walked in so many of her shows. Her collection was everything. Bright colors to patterns and prints. IT WAS JUST BOUNDLESS! I definitely saw something in this designer I told her.

“I want to help you with your work, I know I see you in magazines and New York Fashion Week. I wanna help.”

I started helping her to the point we were Supporting each other and became best friends as of today. Boundless Kreations is one of my favorite designers I’ve work with and support. Her pieces tell her story and who she is as a Kreator she calls it. There is nothing more about feeling confident in what you wear from her collection. I am putting my stamp of approval for this one. lol

As time went by I’ve noticed I needed to put some more work in. I needed to start my own Brand. A brand that represents my passion for helping people, modeling, my talents and who I am as a person and what I went through. Ambitious Models was born. My company stands for Do it the Ambitious Way! I must say I was so happy when it came to LIFE. I’ve gotten so many calls to help people it was ridiculous but in a good way. As of today, My company stands for Empowerment and change, we do it the Ambitious Way!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. They were times where I was doing everything on my own. It was very overwhelming. I had clients who wanted to work with me but stolen all of my ideas, clients who partner up with me and stole money at the events I had going on. I was blinded and didn’t realize in this world not everyone is here for you. One of my designers used to always tell me “You have to understand what you bring out to this world. People will use you. Quality is everything. You will always see who’s with you and who’s not” But the good news is. I came this far and I am still going with nothing but greatness.

There are so many……….. When my mom and dad bought me the Amilia doll. It came with books and a small Diary, My Amilia doll was from the American Girls Company. This was years ago, Amilia traveled to places around the world and spoke about fashion, so in my diary, I would of cut of outfits and made look books when I was small. “Don’t kill me, lol I still have the doll and the box lol.”
