Meet Valeria Pinto of Lilac Dessert Boxes & Cakes in Anaheim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria Pinto.

Valeria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My mom and I teamed up together to create this home-based business about one month ago. We are Peruvian women who want to share our homemade desserts with OC. When I first got laid off in May, I started a custom bracelet shop online called Lilac Crafted by Lele. After a few months, I wanted to get into the dessert business and I came up with “Lilac Desserts”. I took her Peruvian recipes and designed a brand name for us. All out recipes are made from scratch and with Peruvian recipes. We use high-quality ingredients like Peruvian cocoa and vanilla, & 72% Belgium dark chocolate and organic cage-free eggs. For every item that we sell, I specifically choose Wood, Kraft, or Glass for the packaging. I don’t compromise between having to choose what is cheap and what is right. @lilacxdesserts is a small business that acknowledges the importance of sustainability at an affordable price. Today we try to come up with new flavors, designs and soon we will be serving Peruvian Sandwiches.

Has it been a smooth road?
So far, I think we’ve done pretty good for being “open” for one month. We have received a lot of support from friends and locals in Anaheim. We hope to continue to keep growing our business and to serve OC our Peruvian desserts.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lilac Dessert Boxes & Cakes – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in our Alfajores and our Chocolate fudge made from Peruvian Cocoa. We are most proud of our recipes made from scratch and out ECO-friendly packaging. We are Latina women and we hope to set an example to all women that they can also have the ability to create their business.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about Anaheim is the culture and how close it is to local attractions. In my area specifically, there are so many different types of restaurants from Mexican to Thai and Japanese cuisines. What I don’t like about Anaheim would be the traffic. During busy times during the day, the street gets so full of people going back home from work.
