Meet Lian Castillo of HOLLYWOODLIAN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lian Castillo.

Lian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born here in Los Angeles, but I did most of my growing up in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is very special to me because it really shaped me as a performer. I started singing in Casino Lounges by the time I was 16 years old. I did plays & I was cast in a handful of musicals around Las Vegas. When I started to attend film school, I just knew I had to go to LA. It’s where everything happens. I knew I wanted my Life to be in TV & Film. So, I left Vegas, I left school & here I am.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not! It’s really about being yourself and finding your own path in this business. It’s constantly evolving & changing and you have to learn to roll with the punches. It’s a good philosophy for the business and for life! I’m still building my brand, I still hear NO, and I still freak out! You have to go out and play the game to find out who you are and what you are made of. There is always someone in the room that is hotter, younger, and more talented. You have to believe in yourself, and you have to know what you bring to the table because there is only one of you.

Please tell us about HOLLYWOODLIAN.
HOLLYWOODLIAN is me, it’s my Brand. It’s showcasing me as a jack of all trades. Lian Castillo is an Actor, Television Host, & Personality. One of my proudest moments has been debuting on HBO’s Camping co-starring with Jennifer Garner and David Tennant. Working with Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham on Camping was a dream come true.

HOLLYWOODLIAN is the Lead TV Host for the Real Housewives Aftershow over at AfterbuzzTV owned by Maria Menounos. HOLLYWOODLIAN has been showcased on the Emmy Award-winning show, A&E’s Born This Way mentoring young adults with disabilities on how to become TV Hosts!

Down the road, HOLLYWOODLIAN will become my production company. Check everything out, video links and blogs over at

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I grew up across the street from Paramount Studios. So, my parents would take me to Astro Burger which is right next to the studios. I think that’s where my Burger addiction began, but that’s another story.

We would sit there, and I would tell them: One day I will know what’s behind those gates because I’m going to be an Actor. I will appear on the big screen. And they would say, Fine, Just please stay away from Drugs & Gangs.

I’ve worked at Paramount a handful of times, but when Camping premiered, we got to see it on the big screen after the Red Carpet. So, to me, that moment was a Full Circle Dream Come true. I did exactly what I said I would do. Dreams come true, kids. BURGERS FOR EVERYONE!!!
