Meet Lesley Logan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lesley Logan.

Lesley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I randomly fell in love with Pilates about 15 years ago. I had zero intention of ever teaching it. In fact, I am pretty sure I said I would never. And, well, here we are, 11 years of teaching Pilates! I first started with a 600-hour training, then did a masters training and then studied with one of Joseph Pilates clients who has been teaching for decades Jay Grimes.

A few years ago, I started offering Pilates retreats, coaching other teachers on their businesses and launched my online Pilates classes It’s been a whirlwind of a journey learning Pilates and teaching it, and it’s really just getting started!

Has it been a smooth road?
There is no smooth road on any journey. But, I am so grateful for all the bumps I’ve had. Each one has shown me the route I am supposed to take. The struggles in my journey came from when I didn’t make the leap that I needed to make.

So, I’ve learned that when I feel like I am fighting too much, it’s time to let go of what I’ve been trying to hold on to and take the next leap.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
After ten years of teaching Pilates classes and privates around Los Angeles, I opened my own studio in Westwood. My Pilates haven is a quiet space for clients to come and get a workout tailored just for them. Every piece of equipment is a different bright color that is meant to make you feel bright and at home.

In fact, it will feel like you’re doing Pilates at my home because my space, above a bakery, is in what used to be an apartment decades ago. The windows provide wonderful natural sunlight but being upstairs it’s lovely and private. I am most proud of its unique style, offerings and online classes for those who cannot make it into the studio.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
I love how LA is full of communities! You just need to find the one that works for you. I wish LA was easier to walk in. We have the best weather so it would be nice to enjoy it more.
