Meet Leila Entezam of LEZAM in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leila Entezam.

Leila, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out as a pre-med Neuroscience major. I was horrible at the “pre-med” part but loved the Neuroscience part. I transitioned to business, which felt very natural for me. As an immigrant, I feel entrepreneurship is often in our bloodlines. But business alone seemed to always leave me feeling like “something was missing.”

Through a grateful progression of steps, I ended up adding Psychology to my wheelhouse as well. And that’s when greater alignment continued to form. Today, my work emphasizes on emotional intelligence, culture, communication, teaming, purpose, and concepts in these arenas. I conduct workshops, retreats, teach as adjunct faculty and do executive leadership coaching. My passion is empowering people to create sustainable, impactful change.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not at all. I never felt like there was a standard path for what I was doing…combining neuroscience, psychology, and business. And it’s only in the last several years that I feel my areas of focus have become more mainstream.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I work with individuals and organizations in the areas of leadership, development, purpose, creating culture, improving communication, building trust, performance, psychological safety, soft skills, and other such topics. What sets me apart is the combination of neuroscience, business, and psychology…the science of why we do what we do, the social manifestation of it, and the business implication. I’m most proud of the people and organizations who have created transformation in their space and that I’ve been able to participate in giving them a guide on how to get there.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m excited about continuing to grow the ways I can reach people as our landscapes change as a result of Covid19.
