Today we’d like to introduce you to Leigh-Anne Lui.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The inspiration for Love, Evolved began when my marriage fell apart in 2014 – my ex and I had been together for 17 years, and I entered a very dark time. It was the hardest thing I have ever faced, but it also forced me to see all of the things that were not working – both in our relationship and within myself. Now, I truly see this as my greatest blessing.
One of the first things I knew intuitively when our relationship failed was that I needed to connect back to my femininity, and I mean this in a superficial way and in a much deeper, more spiritual way.
Without truly understanding what that meant when I began down that path, I quickly saw how out of balance I was. I was pushing myself to the edge of burnout in my career, suppressing my emotions, disrespecting my body, and not listening to my intuition. I was also incredibly unhappy in my marriage, and this had a negative impact on all other areas of life.
Through intense inner work, I reclaimed my authenticity as a woman and developed a level of profound respect for my feminine side. For me, this meant embracing my empathic gifts of feeling everything deeply, reconnecting to an earth-centered spiritual path that honored the cycles of nature, and learning to deeply cherish my body and its holy nature.
Radical transformation occurred during this process. I gave myself permission to slow down, became more present and open to life, lived through all of my senses, and opened my heart wide to myself (and others) without fear of rejection. I learned to always honor my intuition, which had been sending me red flags for years about my prior relationship, but that I disregarded.
Once I made the decision to leave the marriage, my body responded in the most incredible way. While I struggled with low energy and extra weight for years, my energy suddenly shot through the roof and I immediately lost ten pounds without doing anything differently. As a psychologist, I knew intellectually that our physical and emotional lives were connected. But it wasn’t until I experienced that firsthand so profoundly that I saw how true this was. I was a completely changed woman, and everyone around me could see it.
At the time, I was already practicing as a psychologist in the high schools of LA, but my personal transformation shifted my passion to working with women with similar challenges. I began Love, Evolved in 2017 as a women’s community and led monthly circles for women to gather and talk about a range of topics, from self-love to sexuality.
Based on my two years journey of dating post-divorce and finally meeting the man of my dreams, I now work with women exclusively in the areas of love, sex and relationships. I have learned so much in my life. Based on everything I have been through and having come out the other side, I now have a deep desire to help other women face low self-worth, settling for less than they deserve, and moving from victim mentality to taking full responsibility for their lives.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Earlier this year, I lost my mom to cancer amidst the pandemic and social unrest. It was profound and overwhelming, and I fell into a place of feeling lost and disconnected from my purpose and why I am here on this planet.
I felt grief and anger, but the worst part for me was feeling unanchored. When I am connected to my work in the world, I feel plugged into an endless power source. When I lost that connection and didn’t have clarity about my direction, I felt awful.
My partner played a huge role in reconnecting me back to my purpose, and I am eternally grateful to him. I am now connected more than ever to my mission and feel more passionate than ever about the work I am doing and what I have to offer others.
Please tell us about Love, Evolved.
I am a psychologist specializing in next-level love, sex + relationships for women. In 2017, I founded Love, Evolved, a women’s community dedicated to the reclamation of feminine radiance. I work with women individually and in groups to attract healthy, passionate love. I also teach them about the true essence of the feminine, beyond the superficial constructs that we are taught by society. It’s so much deeper and profound than that.
What sets me apart from others in this realm is that I combine the rigorous training of a psychologist and experience working with hundreds of clients with my own huge personal transformation and absolute passion for epic love, sex and relationships. I am also literally living what I teach, so I’m coming from a really authentic place, and want everyone to experience the bliss of living this way.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Playing endless hours of Nintendo with my best friend Jessica while listening to Depeche Mode and eating bags of Doritos.
