Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Jordan.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My hands needed to move, to manipulate something. It took me about a year to find a sculpture studio. I stayed with that studio and instructor for over 20 years. He is amazing, and I would have stayed there if he hadn’t moved away.
Now my studio is in my yard. I get out to it as often as I can. I love working with the stone and wood. The feel, the textures. I’ll even lick a piece to experience it even more.
Has it been a smooth road?
Besides the occasional injury which would keep me from working, I have been at it for over 30 years. The studio got too political for me. Who would have thought a group of artists could be so problematic. Having it here has its advantages and disadvantages. I just walk out, open the doors, and there I am, ready to work.
The biggest downside is always working alone. At the group studio there was always someone around so we can ask for a comment or critique, or just hang and talk. Now I have to find that kind of experience elsewhere.
Also, showing and selling are not exactly my strong points, but things keep moving forward.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lee Jordan Art – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a sculptor. I carve both stone and wood, occasionally doing some metal or other medium. My work consistently appears on television and in films. That is pretty cool, to see something when you’re watching a show and you didn’t know it was going to be there.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The breath of experiences available here is pretty amazing. From the ocean to the mountains, museums and events, and the wonderful people I have relationships with are the best things.
Traffic is probably the worst thing. But I ride a motorcycle most of the time so that makes it bearable.
- My price range is from $1950 to $9450.
