Meet Lee Godden of Advantage Improv in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Godden.

Advantage Improv co-founders Lee Godden and Bob Doll first met on stage in 2010 during a Southern California charity event featuring two well-known improvisational comedy troupes. Chatting backstage during a break, Lee and Bob discovered they shared similar backgrounds. In addition to a passion for improvisation, they both had successful careers as business leaders (Lee in high technology sales management, and Bob in publishing finance management) and years of experience as organizational trainers and conference speakers.

Lee and Bob performed together at a TEDx event. The following year they co-presented their improvisation-based curriculum at another TEDx. In 2014 they launched Advantage Improv. Soon after, Dan Jablons and Robin McNatt — both organizational trainers with strong improv skills — joined Lee and Bob.

Advantage Improv has grown rapidly, earning the trust of many organizational customers, including: Microsoft, Cisco, Deloitte, Coca-Cola, Beckman Coulter, Brown-Forman, Spectrum Brands, Siemens/Mentor Graphics, Adobe, Capital Group, Taco Bell, Niagara Bottling, the University of San Diego, Liferay, Ayres Hotels, Imagine Learning, GATX, CU Direct, Nihon Kohden, Pharmavite, Advantage Solutions, TPx, the Bascom Group, Trevera, Young’s Market Company, MobilityWare, Hill-Rom/Trumpf Medical and others. Conference and event planners rely on Advantage Improv, including the Mountain Travel Symposium, the National Human Resources Association, Destination Irvine, Meeting Professionals International, the Restaurant Facility Management Association and others. Non-profits love Advantage Improv, including CalOptima, Irvine Unified School District and Five Acres. Advantage Improv also has higher education programs that have been utilized by the University of San Diego and the University of California, Irvine.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Our ongoing challenge is finding new ways to help our customers find us. We are constantly updating our Google Ad parameters to ensure that we are “findable” by those searching for fun and educational team building events.

  • Our organizational team building programs are customizable for groups of 5 to 500. Prices range from $775 to $3,685.
  • Our conference and event keynote / breakout session services are priced from $3,150 to $8,385.
