Meet Leah Robinson of Wrapped In Meditation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Robinson.

Leah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been making jewelry for over a decade. I’ve been creating wearable healing art & accessories since 2013.

Jewelry making began as an adolescent hobby that I showed an aptitude for and genuinely enjoyed.

I learned about crystals in 2012, and because I knew how to work with wire already, I began to wrap gems into pendants and sell them to friends as necklaces.

I’m an L.A. native, but Wrapped In Meditation was born when I lived in the Bay Area during college.

Learning & teaching about the holistic healing properties of the crystals is a major focal point. Pair that with my love for design, and you get Wrapped In Meditation.

Has it been a smooth road?
When I first started, everything seemed like smooth sailing. I sold my pieces on Venice Beach boardwalk and did other art shows and events. I met a lot of awesome people.

I have a positive mindset, which helped me navigate through the hardest time in my life. In June of 2016, after a series of events, I ended up on the streets. Some people might call that “homeless,” but I refused to adopt a homeless state of mind. I would not sit or sleep on the ground, nor would I panhandle. Instead, I decided to vend my products for 17 hours a day on Hollywood Blvd. My night would typically end around 4 am, where I would pack up my merchandise into a plastic box and store it under my chair, and sleep behind my table. I’d wake up around 7 am, and head to my storage unit, where I would sleep inside for a couple of hours until the office opened at 9:30 am. I would load my wheeled cart, and hop on the train back to Hollywood. And my vending shift would start at 12 noon, and end at 4 am.

After 15 months on the streets, my positive mindset, hard work and consistency led to me getting my own apartment, with no roommates in my dream neighborhood in LA. Manifestation is real.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Wrapped In Meditation story. Tell us more about the business.
At Wrapped In Meditation, I mindfully select quality gems and focus on functionality, unique design, and healing. I make everything by hand.

I’m known for creating quality crystal jewelry & accessories and priding myself on customer service. I’m also known for using copper, sterling silver, and gold as materials.

I’m most proud of my supporters, aka “Wrapped Fam”. They truly inspire me because they take the initiative to improve themselves, and the world around them. I’m also proud of how much my Wrapped Fam believes in me. They constantly challenge me to try new things, and they have high expectations of me.

What sets Wrapped In Meditation apart is myself. I’m an individual, and there could never be another Leah 🙂

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Since 2014, I’ve seen tremendous growth in my industry, the healing arts. This is SO exciting because it reflects how in-demand healers are, at this time. I think there will be exponential growth in the future because people are starting to realize their gifts. They’re also taking the initiative to do what they love, make the world a better place, and monetize it, at the same time.
