Meet Lauren Purdom of HER Realty Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Purdom.

Hi Lauren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a Model, Realtor, Business Woman, and Content Creator. I have two little sisters and grew up in Moreno Valley, CA. I now reside in Rancho Cucamonga, which is about an hour east of Los Angeles.

My story…hmmm, I have done and tried a lot of things LOL…so I guess you can say I am still in the process of figuring myself and my life out, which is how I am where I am today.

I grew up playing a lot of sports and in extracurricular activities, thanks to my parents. They always told me to be involved and stay active, so that might be where my drive to pursue different things began. I was always interested in Modeling but just didn’t know how or when to pursue it. So I kind of just stuck to my main plan of playing sports and going to school. I am 5′ 10.5” *hint hint* so of course the sports I played included volleyball and basketball throughout my entire childhood. During my senior year of high school, I got recruited to play collegiate volleyball, so that’s what my life was like for the next four years.

I went to a very small private school in Napa Valley called Pacific Union College. I studied Business Administration and Marketing and graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in 2018. The scenery around my school was amazingly beautiful and my friends and I used to do photoshoots for fun throughout the vineyards when we got bored, so that’s where my interest in modeling began to bloom. I also participated in my school’s fashion shows by walking the runway for my fellow peer designers. In the meantime, I was also working in the luxury retail and hospitality industries.

Once I graduated from college, I decided to move back down to Southern California to be closer to home and family and friends. I was still working in retail and hospitality at the time but I was also dabbling in the YouTube world and freelancing as a model as well. Fast forward to COVID-19 hitting, I was laid off from my current retail job and didn’t know what to do. I was at a confusing stage in life because I wanted to pursue my interests (modeling, Youtube, etc.) but I did not want to feel like my college degree was being wasted. From there, I started up a lash business on the side and started booking more modeling gigs. I actually ended up in one of BLXST’s music videos featuring 1Take.Jay called Slip n’ Slide (shoutout to Erin Pea and the EVGLE gang, they are dope AF). As time went on, I still had that thought in my mind like dang, I need to do something with my degree haha. So that’s when Real Estate came about. It had always been in the back of my mind but I was so focused on other things, I didn’t have the time to pursue it. Once COVID-19 was simmering down, I decided to sign up for the pre-req courses and take the exam and the rest is history.

Right now, you can say I am a full-time real estate agent. And man, is it a busy industry!!! I am working with a team I helped Co-found called HER Realty Group (follow us on Instagram @her_realtygroup). It is a lot of work but so much fun!!! I do plan on getting back in the modeling industry and also dabbling in some interior design here and there. But currently, I am focused on being the best Realtor I can be to help anyone with their homeownership and investment needs. I would definitely say my story is still being written but best believe there is a lot still in store for me, so if you want to stay tuned in, follow me on Instagram @theelaurentaylorr !!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would say it has been smooth majority of the time. Some struggles along the way were definitely related to financial stability and self-doubt. I am so creative and have so many ideas on what I want to do and try that sometimes I get overwhelmed and psych myself by thinking “oh I can’t do it or I don’t have time/enough time to get it done”. Our minds and thoughts are so powerful, so some challenges that I have been overcoming is shutting out all my negative thoughts as soon as they come to my mind. Those thoughts don’t have time to sit and dwell and take over my positive thoughts anymore. I have been through a lot and experienced so much that my mindset now is totally different than when I was in college. I try to live by anything is possible, and if you think it you can do it! Don’t let other people’s fears stop you from living your best and truest life!!!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
HER Realty Group is a Real Estate group full of sophisticated, educated, and powerful women. We help with all things real estate, including but not limited to, buying, selling, and investing. What sets us apart from others is that we’re a dynamic group of women who not only empowers others but we have great intentions. We not only look out for each other but for our clients who turn family as well. What makes us most proud of our brand is that we always strive to provide value in some way, shape, or form by educating and pouring knowledge into everyone we connect with. We want and strive to be the #1 Real Estate resource to everyone because at the end of the day, we’re all connected through HER.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I can say I was an adventurous nerd. I was (and still am) really smart but didn’t like to study LOL. I love the water so anything involving going swimming, to the beach, etc. I was always down! I also really loved fashion so if I wasn’t at the mall shopping, you’d find me reading a fashion magazine or trying to cut and sew my own clothes haha. I was always a very outgoing person and very competitive (blame sports haha). I also tended to be friends and get along with everyone from all walks of life. My parents taught me to always be nice, genuine, and authentic because you never know what someone is going through and a smile is the easiest way to brighten someone’s day.
