Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Munoz.
Lauren, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hi there! My name is Lauren Munoz and I am an actress, model, photographer, writer, content creator, musician, and social media influencer. From a young age, I have always been passionate about creating art and pursuing a career in the creative industries. When I was six years old, I went on a school field trip to see my first ever theatrical production. It was from that point that I became obsessed with the idea of creating and portraying a story and different characters. I began partaking in productions with my local community theatre ever since.
As a child I also always loved writing. When I was in the first grade, I got placed in advanced level writing and reading with only two other children in our school. In the third grade, I got my first poetry book published. From then on, I began writing short stories and books as a personal hobby.
I also began using social media regularly from a young age. At the age of thirteen, I ran multiple Twitter accounts, some of which reached over a million followers. From then on, I began using other platforms to post content I would create and enjoy.
Photography and videography have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I remember being a young child and I would create movies with my camcorder at home and take photographs of everything around me. I started becoming interested in travel and landscape photography. When I was thirteen, I shot my first wedding. Since then I’ve been using social media as a way to. work with brands and photograph collaborations and travel destinations.
Up until a year ago, I was focused mainly on school, creating travel content, and Instagram. I had always wanted to pursue my career, but my parents wanted me to be a normal teenager and focus on school.
In February of 2018, I got contacted through my social media and got flown out to walk my first ever series of runway shows for New York Fashion Week. Before then, modeling was never something I had considered. When I got there, the experience was surreal. I got to walk for well known designers and attend and work at events with companies such as Netflix, Google, etc. Not too long after then, I booked my first ever commercial. After showing my parents that this was something I was extremely passionate about, they decided to help me move to LA to kickstart my career.
It’s been a year since I’ve moved to LA. I am currently still pursuing social media, working on creating more and better content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. I am in collaborations with many brands, companies, events, and influencers. I’ve taken a small break from modeling solely to focus on school. I’m working both behind the scenes and on camera with several music videos, commercials, television shows, and movies. I am currently in the process of writing a book and working on releasing music. I am only in the beginning stages of my career, but I hope I can inspire others to chase after their dreams and work hard towards the goals they want to achieve.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Certain areas have been extremely easy for me throughout my journey, whereas there have been extremely difficult aspects. Because I began social media at such a young age, I have gotten many amazing once in a lifetime opportunities that I am so beyond grateful for. When you live in LA and work in the industry, it can be kind of scary and difficult to navigate your way through things. You have to market yourself as your own business and brand. Especially now in the society that we live in, social media is a huge part of this generation. It. has connected me with many jobs and other industry creatives that have helped me out along the way. It’s also very helpful to get yourself and your work is known and heard amongst your supporters.
However, during my first year living in LA, I went through some experiences that were personally very hard on me. In 2019, I struggled with my mental health quite a bit which got in the way of my work and my creative flow. I got mixed up in the wrong crowd of people, tried too hard to become somebody I was not, and let too many toxic people in my life. In the end, you’ve gotta learn to take care of your health before anything, be careful of who you surround yourself with, and stay true to yourself and your goals no matter what. Managing school and work at the same time has also been another challenge I’ve faced, but with the right time management skills and set your priorities straight, it can be done.
Please tell us about your work.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am still in the beginning stages of my career, but as of right now my proudest moment would have to be walking and getting to work with New York Fashion Week. I have had many other instances where I’ve done things in my career that I have been proud of, but this will always be my first and most special moment.
