Meet Lauren Minor of Forward Momentum in Irvine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Minor.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lauren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After spending the majority of my life in the corporate world, and after the birth of my first son in November 2016, I had what I can only describe as a personal awaking.

For many years I had written a blog focused on health and fitness, a personal passion, but had never made it anything other than an outlet for this passion.

Fast forward a number of years, discontent in a corporate job, a new mother in a mommy haze, I decided it was now or never to pursue my dream of coaching other people to better health and fitness, with a specific focus on mindset and nutrition.

I love watching people transform their lives by making simple changes in their daily life that help facilitate them becoming their best self.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m not sure there is ever really a smooth road when embarking on a new business journey, especially as an entrepreneur.

There is a lot of second guessing and a lot of feeling like there is even more learning needed, especially when you’re in a profession that involves coaching or mentoring others. I felt an even bigger desire to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.

I preach progress over perfection to my clients as it is the same practice I live out in my daily life. I think sharing my struggles had actually made it that much easier for me to relate to my clients.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Forward Momentum – what should we know?
Forward Momentum is a mindset and nutrition coaching business. I work with clients in small groups or 1:1 to help transform their daily behaviors and thoughts around health and fitness.

Given that I myself am a mother of a young child, other mothers have naturally gravitated towards my services, as I can not only relate, but I am actually living the same struggles day in, day out.

I love working with moms and women in general, because I think we all struggle with a lot of the same stuff when it comes to our personal health and fitness and it is super rewarding to watch people make those positive shifts that get them closer to reaching their goals, that have oftentimes, been unattainable. Just takes the right push.

I am most proud that I was able to launch a business with a small child at home and still keep my sanity!

I think what sets me apart is my willing to be unapologetically myself and to approach things with a no-nonsense, no-BS mentality. I tell people, if you’re willing to show up and do the work and you want it bad enough, I will simply help you unlock the potential that resides inside of you!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Staying true to myself and not letting the focus become about status or money.

I truly went into this business to help people change their lives forever. Not just for the time period I work with them.

Operating from a place of integrity and trust is crucial to how I keep my focus on my clients’ outcomes and not other less important pursuits.
