Meet Laura Gonzalez of Ambiance Skin Care & Day Spa in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Gonzalez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Once I decided to build a career in skincare, I never looked back. I launched my business in 2001, I started in a 600 sq ft location and have expanded into a 2000 sq ft. I am dedicated to beauty, relaxation and quality. I am lucky enough to have grown my business on client referrals always customizing treatments for client needs, helping them achieve the results for flawless skin. I enroll in classes to keep up with current trends and products. There is always something new happening at Ambiance.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I opened in 2001 a few months after 9/11. I knew that I could achieve anything I set my mind too. I loved this business so much I was so excited that my business was growing, by 2006 I decided to expand my business. I hired lots of staff and things were getting so busy until the recession in 2008. Things slowed down a bit we managed to keep our core clients and grow with client referrals. Here we are 2020 and we are temporarily closed, I am grateful that we have an abundance of clients who are dying to come back and just waiting for the ok. I have created virtual appointments so that I can continue to recommend the right products for each individual.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ambiance Skin Care & Day Spa – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Ambiance is dedicated to beauty relaxations and quality. We specialize in Skin Care and customized and create treatments for each individual according to their needs. I am proud that I can provide the best in services and teach and train others to do the same. What sets me apart from other spas is the personal care that I provide each individual.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Running a business in times of diversity has been something that I thrive on. I am looking forward to growing my service portfolio and offering new treatments that meet the concern of the new client.
