Meet LamboGoPro

Today we’d like to introduce you to LamboGoPro.

LamboGoPro, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a new artist out of Los Angeles, California. Before deciding to become an artist, I was dedicated to the football field and living out my dream to play in the NFL. I Signed to Cal Berkeley on a football scholarship out of Highschool before then transferring to the University of New Mexico where I became a Division 1 mountain west All-Conference player two years in a row, team leader, and a NCAA bowl game champion. After college, I was fortunate enough to live out my dream of making it to the NFL as an undrafted free agent for the Buffalo Bills. Although I had made my dream come true my NFL career didn’t last long. I was cut from the Bills and was lost in the world for a minute before then going to play for HOF Mike Singletary in the AAF (Alliance of American Football) for the Memphis Express. Due to problems with the NFLPA the league was canceled shortly after my arrival landing me back off the football field.

When I got back home from playing pro, I decided that I wanted to reinvent myself. I was feeling so many different emotions. Felt lost because I had gave so many years to the game that I didn’t know what else there was for me. Then music came into the picture. I went to my first official studio with one of my friends who been doing his thing with music. At first, I was just there to watch and vibe. Then I got a shot to record and I think I only did a hook or 6 bars but the feeling I got hearing my voice over a beat and seeing people’s reaction was enough for me. I felt something special. With music, I always felt something special. I remember making songs on my GarageBand on my phone just trying to make myself sound good. Now after only almost a year of being an artist, I have two EP’s out “Field Love” and “FIELD2FIELD” and people listening to my music. The future is bright.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Honestly, I just feel blessed. To have any kind of audience as an artist starting off so early. I only feel confidence in what’s ahead. Losing football was definitely the biggest obstacle I had to overcome before finding music. When I stopped playing I struggled with my identity for a short period of time. I didn’t know what I wanted to do anymore. I started to notice friends going through the same thing and started to give up. I was so used to the daily routine of waking up before sunrise, having meetings, practice, workouts, then spending my weekends playing games. I feel fortunate to have found something to reinvent myself.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Never been the lucky type. Always believed that my work will determine my success. I guess over the years, some would say I’ve had some good luck, but to me I made my own luck based off of my work ethic and relationship with God.
