Meet Kristen Jones of Gifts From Virgo in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Jones.

Kristen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Being from Detroit, MI I’ve always had a passion for fashion and accessories. Growing up in order to be cool you had to rock the latest expensive fashions and jewelry to be seen and heard. As I got older and came into the being that I am now, I understood that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to be fly and fashionable especially when it comes to rocking trendy jewelry and accessories. More and more, I started to get compliments about my accessories and I wanted to create a brand for the everyday woman to look and feel good without breaking the bank. I took my time curating a line and birthed Gifts From Virgo. Gifts From Virgo is all about being bold, trendy and fearless with your look and not feeling like you have to spend a lot to do so.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is never a smooth road. Being a small business owner has its challenges and in today’s world, you have to be social media savvy to stay current and to create a buzz. There will be bumps that you face along the way and times that you will doubt yourself and want to give up but my passion for success outweighs any hiccups that I’ve faced.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Gifts From Virgo story. Tell us more about it.
Gifts From Virgo is all about having that expensive look while spending less. I’ve created a segment called “Get the Look.” I take my time to find accessories that resemble luxury items so that the everyday woman feels chic and timeless while on a budget. As a company, I am most proud when my customers are happy and fulfilled with their purchases. I love empowering women and making them feel good. I think what sets me apart from other companies is that I truly care about my customers and tailor my products to what they’re interested in. I’ve built a lot of individual relationships with my customers and earned their trust.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Jewelry is an industry that’s been around for hundreds of years and it will continue to grow as time goes on. I think with social media as being relevant as it is today it forces us, business owners, to always stay on top of trends and find new ways to keep your customers interested while creating a unique brand. Everything is digital and online now and fast fashion has taken over the industry of fashion.

  • While creating the “look for less” I don’t price any of my items over $50.00.
