Meet KP Wolfe

Today we’d like to introduce you to KP Wolfe.

KP, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from Brooklyn and fell into the rock musical scene. Some doors opened for me after working with Air Supply, NOFX, and Holly Knight, and I got cast as Janis Joplin in ‘A Night With Janis Joplin’ performing across the country. This is what led me to meet my manager, move to Los Angeles and finally start recording. I love that I can create my own platform and voice through my music and visuals.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha, I don’t think anyone has ever claimed it was a smooth road to achieving your dreams. Rejection, disappointment, and struggle is a daily thing for musicians. I’ve been promised Broadway contracts that were reneged, I’ve been promised loyalty and hard work to have those same people turn their back on me, life is unfair. That’s why I’ve learned to take matters into my own hands. I’ve learned to depend on myself to execute my music, manage my connections, build my voice and platform. Because I will always work the hardest for myself.

Please tell us about your music.
I’m a singer and songwriter, I’m pro LGBTQ+, I’m pro women in music, and I love rock n roll. I’m known for my powerful vocals, I can be loud and gritty and I don’t care if I’m sweating glitter on stage, as long as my audience is dancing along with me spreading a message of love and empowerment.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
The first time I saw ‘Phantom of the Opera’ in New York changed me. It was the first time I could envision myself in something real. It moved me and inspired me to pursue and write music using my own experiences.
