Meet Kimatni Rawlins of Automotive Rhythms in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimatni Rawlins.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kimatni. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My father started an automotive magazine when I was in college at Georgia Tech. I used his business plan for all my marketing projects.

After graduation, I pursued a career in the publishing side of the industry. Now, my mission is to continuously educate consumers on the various dynamics that comprise the automotive industry and its corresponding products, technologies and accessories while strategizing with top tier brands interested in broadening their market approach.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was born and raised in Camden, NJ where struggle is deeply rooted and challenging to overcome due to a lack of resources and opportunity. Now, I’m in a position to educate the masses while giving back to humanity. Anytime I hit a glitch in the road, I look back on my upbringing for guidance. Entrepreneurship has its highs and lows, and when it’s low it’s very low. Consistently marketing yourself for new business and contracts is a daily task. Aside from that the freedom to dictate your schedule and travels is pretty amazing.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
High school sports will remain with me for all eternity. My cousins and I were state champs in track and division leaders in football. The youthful experiences created from meets, games and practices are still full of vigor and passion. For that reason, Friday Night Lights is my favorite sports show and movie.
