Meet Kiia Clarice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiia Clarice.

Kiia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve been interested in and passionate about the entertainment industry since I was a little girl. As a little girl, taking criticism, and rejection was never easy — I was taken out of everything, and once I hit 21, I then began my journey through the industry once again.

Part of my reasoning for jumping back into it was losing my brother at the age of 18, it was a hard time for me. When I was younger, he was my motivation, my push to break boundaries and try my luck in acting and things of that nature.

When he was taken from us, I then set my sights back on modeling, acting, and entertainment and have vowed to try and make him and my parents and those who’ve always rooted for me as proud as humanely possible. Prove that I can be and do anything I want to, despite the doubt and fear.

I took a leap, and I’ve been steadily growing as an artist. I’m very thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given thus far, and the platform I’m developing as a creative artist. To be able to speak up for my communities is a true privilege. And I’m just getting started.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never been a smooth road for me, unfortunately. Despite this look, everybody is sure that I have, as a model I’ve had to deal with and be rejected because of the height requirement in the modeling industry.

As a singer, because I have anxiety, I’ve been trying to overcome my fear and doubt for many years. As a dancer, I’m always trying new things, and sometimes my body just won’t cooperate with me. I’ve been told no, I’ve been turned away due to money status, and many other things.

I’ve not had the opportunities, or resources some have been fortunate enough to have growing up, despite living in a city where your name in lights might seem easy — even though it’s not. I’ve had to deal with self-doubt, and negative energy clouding my judgment.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
As a creative artist, I have my hand in almost everything. I write I dance, I sing, I act, model, I’m a digital content creator. My main passion lies within music, but I’ve always had an overall passion for helping others, and paving the way for others like me who have had it as hard if not harder.

I’m proud of how far I’ve come in my journey, I’m proud of the accomplishments I’ve made and will continue to work hard to prove I’m a force to be reckoned with. I think what sets me apart from so many is my continuous drive, my work ethic, and my passion is still burning as bright as ever.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel as though my willingness to work, to constantly evolve as an artist is what helps me succeed in all my fields. I’m willing to do the work and broaden my horizons.
