Today we’d like to introduce you to Kierra Bazilio.
Kierra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Wrap was born because of ambition and anxiety. The idea of me selling my food to people always seemed like a calling since a young age. It was a burning desire that bugged me every single day until the idea demanded my attention. Can you feel the anxiousness just by reading that little bit? I started cooking at a young age, and every time I cooked for people they were amazed by the taste.
From childhood to adulthood, I’ve always threw down in the kitchen. With that being said, it seemed like a no brainer to start my own business. Owning a business is something that I’ve dreamed of for years, but it didn’t become crystallized until the beginning of 2019. I’m able to stay pretty motivated on my own, but with the support of family and friends, it makes the journey so much easier. With 2019 coming to an end, I couldn’t be happier with the direction Wrap. is going! Although Wrap. isn’t a huge brand yet, I have a very good feeling it will be.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been pretty smooth so far. Of course, there are days when things go wrong; for example when materials I need run out, but I look at obstacles as opportunities for growth. I always tell myself expect the worst, therefore, I can prepare myself for obstacles, but always hope for the best.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Wrap. – what should we know?
Wrap is a food business that provides delivery, catering, and meal prep options that specializes in wraps/burritos. Everything I cook is locally sourced freshly made to order. I would say The Breakfast Wrap is the most popular item on the menu and is 100% vegetarian! I’m also very proud of the Vegan Veggie Wrap. on the menu because the future is health-conscious. Having real and filling options for everyone is definitely something that sets us apart for the rest. If you go to most fast-food restaurants, the only option for a vegan is fries or a salad. Not Wrap! I also think it’s important to not overwhelm the consumer with too many options, so the menu is short and sweet!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I would say being honest is the most important quality to have for my business. When I make the food, I’m not putting any BS, unnecessary ingredients in the food. I do believe the human body is a temple and we must nourish it with honest intent and ingredients. Obviously not only when it comes to food, but when I interact with my customers, you’ll also get an honest wholesome interaction from me.
