Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiara Jackson.
Kiara “Showtime” Jackson is a trained dancer, model, educator and pageant queen/coach. She attended Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, competing and winning the title of the 40th Miss Lincoln University. Throughout her entire college career Kiara served as a pageant coordinator and coach for several on-campus organizations. Her ability to train non-experienced women and transforming them into stage ready superstars was God-given gift. In 2015 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications (Broadcast Journalism) without a clue as to where she was headed in her educational career. She suffered from deep depression, going from job to job trying to find a way in the real world. But after her 3rd position she quit without any backup plan. For six months, Kiara spent countless days and nights making a list of all of her talents thinking of ways to turn her passions into a paycheck. Due to all of her performing experiences with dance, model and pageantry with inspiring others, she created the idea of the Miss Gorgeous Prince George’s Teen Pageant. Three years later, this pageant has appeared on live television networks and has known to have changed hundreds of young lives.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a young entrepreneur, challenges are bound to get in the way of your success, especially when the road to success is clear and ready to conquer. But fortunately, I look at each obstacle as a lesson. When building a brand there is no such thing as a loss, therefore there is always light to a tunnel. Did I struggle trying to find a job in my field? Yes. Did I settle for any job that would put lots of money in my pocket? Yes. Was I miserable working in jobs that did not align with my passions? Absolutely. But would I change any of it? No, because everything I’ve experienced has opened my eyes to a greater journey of life. My experiences has taught me that working in a field of youth and entertainment is what I was born to do. I was created to inspire, influence and empower women.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The quality that I feel is most important to my success is my consistency, loyalty and ambition. Without those three things, I would not be able to maintain the amazing connections I’ve made throughout the years. I was always told that my character would take me a long way. It is what people remember most about you. Although I was known as an “extra, dramatic, charismatic diva” I learned the importance of authenticity at a very early age. Due to the skill of staying true to who I am, my character has brought so many blessings into my life.
