Meet Kevin Dailey of Unified Products and Services in Irvine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Dailey.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kevin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Unified Products and Services was founded in 2009 as a physical security systems provider. Cisco was our primary technology provider and we integrated a wide variety of technologies that included our servers, storage devices, Video analytics software and command-and-control Software platforms. Our customers included Amtrak and several companies in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach that were thought to be highly exposed to terrorist threats from the waterfront. Our systems we’re largely government funded and designed to protect the perimeter of some of the largest ports in the United States

Today the company has changed its mission and is now supplying a Marketing Cloud that provides two services for our customers: Guest Wi-Fi video advertising and web push notification. These products allow our clients to develop a closer relationship with their customers.

Guest Wi-Fi video advertising allows delivering their best video ads right to the mobile device of their customer that already in their stores. Following the video ad is a landing page with a special offer on a custom landing page that they can act on in the store, much like the old K-Mart blue light special effect.

Web push notifications are delivered right to the desktop bypassing spam folders and filters. Plus we can link the notifications right to an abandoned shopping cart online to allow our customer to re-offer the cart contents at a discount for enhanced eCommerce performance.

Combining these technologies can help companies the following sectors: retail, hospitality, casinos, hospitals, fitness, dealerships, convention centers and stadiums.

It can all be installed for 1-1000 sites in about an hour and calls for no new servers or software to be installed.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Changing market focus has been difficult, the goal has always been to be able a national or global audience with a product that scales without limit, and that calls for a small infrastructure footprint with limited headcount to serve our customers. Our current model can deliver that.

Please tell us about Unified Products and Services.
We are the only organization that offers both of these products together. There are few video ad serving companies and just a handful offering WEB push notifications.

Web notifications just became part of browser technology about 9-12 months ago and is currently implemented on few large e-commerce sites.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Sunday night at the dinner table with 3 brothers and great parents. It wasn’t for the faint of heart with quick wits all around. He who speaks last loses! Sports to politics…come ready! Or get smoked!
