Meet Keren Eldad, executive coach and speaker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keren Eldad.

Keren, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
As a crisis counselor with Crisis Text Line and executive coach to billion-dollar corporations alike, I hold several gold-standard coaching and behavioral analyst certifications. This did not happen overnight: over the past several years, I have honed and created my signature coaching method to focus on detoxing mindsets to expose common self-imposed restrictions such as judgment, negativity, resentment, insecurity and to make room for healthy, happy thoughts.

The reason I got here is personal. Like my clients and hotline texters, I was once “maxed out” myself: burning the candle at both ends, saying no to nothing and working eighteen-hour days…including weekends, pursuing a life full of ‘things” and “fitting in,” yet suffering an indescribable emptiness and sense of wasted time. I. Was. Miserable. Sound familiar? It should. It’s a rather common story.

Then, I lost everything, or rather, decided to blow it all up: I abandoned my career, escaped my abusive marriage, moved countries and took the risk of finally taking a stand for my own destiny.

After turning my life around, I learned, above all, how to develop a talent for joy. From years of hands-on work and study in the fields of positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, coaching and crisis counseling, I have also discovered this to be the key not only to wellbeing, but to resilience and success. My mission is to extend these keys to happiness and mindset tools to all, through my coaching programs, talks and seminars and through my popular call-in podcast, “Coached,” and with a reality television series, “Rise”. In other words, my mission lies in codifying the process so that others can get happy, too.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not. Has anyone ever had a smooth road? In fact, would anyone ever be inspired by the story of a person who HAD a smooth road? I don’t think so. I do not think anyone would respond to a story that goes: “the queen was born. Her life was dope and everything went her way. The end.”

Excellence is created through resistance. Just as diamonds are created through constant pressure – so is your greatness. This is my story, too. I did not fall head first into success the moment I discovered my purpose and aimed at it; I fell, I felt judged, I messed up, I had crises – from not finding work for many months, to having to sleep on friend’s sofas to make ends meet, to starting over after a divorce, after a fire and after the death of my beloved cats. That’s life: things happen.

In every person’s life, hopefully there will come a point where problems pile up so high, they can no longer ignore them. That’s what happened to me again and again, and these are the very moments I consider the luckiest breaks of my life. I’d like to propose here that for those seeking real happiness – true freedom – this point is inevitable and can be the greatest thing that ever happened to you.

For the reader out there, who has been suffering long at the hand of a seemingly massive problem, or who has long felt discontent with a life that looked just fine, I am telling you this story as a message of hope and light. If I could survive all that and thrive, so can you. You are stronger than you think. And you don’t want a smooth ride, anyway.

With Enthusiasm Coaching – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
With Enthusiasm Coaching is a leading Executive Coaching business offering coaching, talks and workshops and specializing in leadership psychology and the creation of successful businesses and teams. I feel that what sets us apart is the use of many different tools, methods and even coaching languages to help you better define and understand our world. For example, we can use psychological tools and terminology to explore human behavior and unravel why you do what you do, as well as what you can do about it.

Similarly, as it is rooted in diverse accreditation and rigorous research, my coaching method gives you rich and diverse options for the creation of new possibilities ahead, and for communicating these to and co-creating these with everyone in our life.

Paired with a personal manner that is funny, warm and reassuring – it’s quite a unique offering in a space that is largely unaccredited, pressure-oriented and slightly “in your face.”

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe that luck is a frame of mind. Though I acknowledge that there is such a thing as luck – I also believe than anyone can be dealt any hand and – with a pinch of vision, resourcefulness and the will to live well – can win with it. Viewing luck this way explains all my good breaks in life and in business: I took the hands I was dealt and have had the wherewithal to twist them in my favor. And so can anyone who is ready to live to the fullness of their potential.
