Meet Kayla Yvette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Yvette.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kayla. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got into modeling about a year ago. I booked a couple photoshoot for my boyfriend and I. After the photoshoot, the photographer said that I was really photogenic and he would love for me to do more photoshoots with him to build his portfolio. I agreed, and every photoshoot after that led to more opportunities in modeling for me. Within that year, I’ve been on a few tv commercials, runway shows, magazine features, and online websites.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Modeling has NOT been a smooth road for me. There is A LOT that goes on behind the scenes. You have to have be strong mentally to pursue modeling. It’s easy to get discouraged because you will not get accepted to do every job. You have to keep a leveled head when things do not go how you want them to or how they’re supposed to. The modeling industry is not nice so you have to have tough skin if you plan on getting into it. Some of the biggest struggles for me to realize that it is a cutthroat game. Many people do WHATEVER they have to in order to get ahead. You have to be careful of others intentions when working with them.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My determination is unmatched. Many people my age does not have the mindset I have when it comes to modeling and that’s what sets me apart from others. I’m 21 years old and I plan on doing bigger things within the next year of my modeling. I set goals every month to achieve and I put in the work to accomplish everything I speak on. If I have a dream, I never think it’s too big or impossible for me to achieve it. My mindset is “someone has to do it, so why not it be me?” When it comes to me dreaming big. I plan to be on tv more than just 30 seconds for a commercial, I want to appear in movies and tv shows.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Qualities that are important to my success is my loyalty, determination, and work ethic. Me being loyal to a lot of people is the reason I’ve been fortunate to get ahead in the industry. People see I do not cross them, so they’re willing to do favors for me when I need help. My determination is endless. There is nothing that I will not work for or feel like I can’t do. Even when I get knocked down, I always get back up. I feel like the world is mine and whatever I want to achieve, I know I will achieve it. My work ethic is me staying up crazy hours of the night finding more connections and events to attend. I’m always open to meeting new people and attending events to help me grow as a model. A lot of nights, I get around 3 hours of sleep from working on how I can improve my craft and be a better version of myself.
