Meet KatieMichal Pullen

Today we’d like to introduce you to KatieMichal Pullen.

KatieMichal, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started very young. I watched CSI Las Vegas and told my parents I was going to be an actor. As I got older, I learned more career opportunities in the entertainment industry, such as makeup. All throughout High School, while I was staring in plays and excelling in art class, I was able to practice my creative talents through “Spirit Week.”

There would be themed weeks for Homecoming, Prom, a big football game, etc. and you could dress up accordingly. I would take this very seriously and ended up winning “Most spirited” four years in a row. Once I had graduated and moved to LA, I took it upon myself to continue to make looks and post them on social media.

Even though I have yet to get professional training in makeup. We live in a time where you can look anything up online and teach yourself. Now living in LA for 6yrs I have been acting, modeling and becoming a Boxing Coach which was a shock to everyone. I have always been athletic but more dancing, gymnastics, and cheer a little more graceful. All of a sudden, I can’t go a day without thinking when I get to put on my gloves, drip sweat, and leave with sore knuckles. My story is far from done but it has truly been a ride.

Has it been a smooth road?
Graduating High School with ADD and Dyslexia! To put it nicely, the school system has no idea how to help a student like me succeed. It was a fight to keep up. To know you’re smart but have some paper telling you you’re not… those experiences has me second-guessing myself all the time.

Living in LA itself is a constant struggle at one point, I had five jobs and still had to ask my Mom for rent money.

Dealing with people. People are strange, always learning how to interact with every new person you meet some times you get it right.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As an actor, you are selling yourself, as a Boxing Coach I’m selling my skills, and I don’t make any money off of my makeup or art projects but it sure if a special skill I and many others enjoy.

On social media, I am most known for Boxing and Makeup. My personality is also a big one! For my circle (the group of family and friends that you talk to outside of social media), they see me as an Actor and Boxer.

I am very proud of my work ethic. I give 1million percent into whatever I am doing, I think that’s what also sets me apart, I care!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The variety of people, activities, places, there is so much life here. Opportunities at every corner.

It is so expensive and people that only want something from you. I also really dislike that there’s a huge lack of support for the people who are displaced from there homes. I may not have the right answer to help but there has got to be something more done for the people that need it most.
