Meet Katie Trottino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Trottino.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My photography story begins with my girls, the little ones who made me a mama. I have always loved the art and practiced it for 15 years as a hobby. However, when my eldest daughter was born, she was the motivation I needed to chase my dreams with my whole heart. Know, almost 5 years later, my three daughters are still my number one inspiration.

Please tell us about your art.
As a photographer, it’s my job to capture memories for my clients. This can be done in 1,000 of ways but what I love to do is capture candid moments that tell a story. The love and laughter that shows through my art is authentic and I want my clients to look back on their photos and not only be reminded of the moment, but feel how they felt in that moment. I want people to take away the story the behind the photo and truly feel it.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I’m not sure if I think the role has changed. If anything I think the role of artists today is more important than it has been in the past though. I want my photos to show love. If it’s the love of a couple on their wedding, or the love of a mother during a family session. I want to show those emotions and remind my clients of all the good in their lives, and the things to be grateful for. In our current social and political climate it’s nice to be reminded of this.
