Meet Kate Neligan of Equine Rockstar Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Neligan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kate. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my journey with horses when I was 10 and my mom took me for weekly riding lessons and later summer camp with horses. I fell in love with them and rode for years all the way through competing in college. It wasn’t until one day just a few years ago when a friend shared with me about how her horses showed up in an equine therapy session and I was blown away. I’ll never forget that moment of when I learned about their real gifts and power. I had to see it so I volunteered to support my first mentor in her sessions with addicts in recovery. I spent two hours in total awe, watching deep transformation unfold for suffering individuals who quickly stepped back into possibility.

After a couple years of volunteering I decided I had to become an equine-assisted life coach and so I trained with many different people and began working with individuals and corporate groups. I knew I had to bring my corporate background in entertainment and my desire to create positive change inside of companies to the horses and their unique intuitive gifts and create a partnership.

For the last several years I’ve supported hundreds of people in their personal and professional growth and development. Most of my work boils down to self-love and starts with the intention of the client, whether they want to learn more about leadership or heal a physical issue or commit to a romantic relationship. I’ve witnessed the most incredible changes and results transpire over sessions in nature when the horses work their magic and my brave clients step into their best selves.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part I’ve been blessed as this work never feels like work because I love it so much and it’s clearly my calling. That said, I have had my share of heartbreak as I lost my beloved horse Lindsey and main co-coach just a few months ago when she broke her leg. She taught me so much and helped hundreds of people open their hearts as well. It’s been a lot of heartache for me and yet I’ll never give up. She wants me to continue her legacy of helping humans remember their true nature. My work and purpose started off with the loss of another incredible horse named Felici. I leased her for over 2 years before she passed of melanoma. Her name means “happiness” in Italian and that is the legacy she wants me and others to live as well. In many ways, she was the catalyst for this work and Lindsey took me to incredible new levels as a coach, healer and teacher. Now I’m in the unknown of what’s next and where my horse herd will come from as I get to practice trust and faith that my work will grow and that the right horse(s) will show up.

Please tell us about Equine Rockstar Coaching.
My coaching company is called Conscious Rockstar Coaching and I named it this because I call my intuition my “conscious rockstar” and I want everyone to have an incredible relationship with their own inner guidance system. When we are conscious and we shine light, we feel like rockstars and we live lives that rock! Equine Rockstar Coaching is the horse component and the way I prefer to do all my coaching. I also speak and write as well.

I specialize in helping corporate groups with mindfulness practices, heart-centered leadership, and team building. I’m proud that my clients have slowed down and taken the time to invest in themselves and each other during these retreats and now they know how to celebrate their accomplishments while creating more through new ways of being/working.

I specialize in helping individuals (usually women) with life transitions such as loss, finding more meaningful work, and preparing for romantic relationships. I’m proud that many of my clients have found their life partner within just a few sessions with me and the horses. More importantly, they all report greater levels of self-love.

What sets me apart from others is that I bring a unique background of working in corporate entertainment companies for over a decade with a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology and my own intuitive gifts and abilities to communicate with horses.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Most of them are remembering the feeling of being on the back of a horse and also always having stuffed animal near my side. I’ve loved animals with a huge, open heart and passion my whole life. I remember playing fetch with my dog and cuddling with my cat. I always wanted a horse but never could have one until about a year or so ago when I got Lindsey. This is why it’s been so hard that she passed because my childhood dream was so short-lived…. for not at least!

  • My private sessions are $195/person for 90 minutes and after the first one I work in monthly coaching packages.
