Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat Farovitch.
Hi Kat, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been interested in humans—what defines us, how we live, what inspires us, and what fills us with joy. Conversely, I’m interested in what causes us to suffer and then (hopefully) inspires us to evolve. In 2002, while receiving a degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, I also felt called to enroll in the Holistic Health and Massage Certification program at UC Santa Cruz. That was one of the best decisions I ever made because it was a broadly focused program and not just a massage certification program. I was exposed to a whole new world of holistic philosophies and natural living where I learned about herbalism, aromatherapy, holistic nutrition, and a variety of bodywork styles from around the world. Since 2002, I have happily worked in the Natural Health world—and I can proudly say I have never worked a 9-to-5 desk job.
Since then, I have traveled the earth, learning and practicing a plethora of healing modalities. I hold certifications in almost all styles of massage and bodywork, BodyTalk and Mindscape, Biomagnetism, Biogeomtry, and I hold a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Herbalism from Yo San University in Los Angeles. I primarily practice Microsystem Holographic / Reflexology Acupressure, Sa’am Acupuncture of Wandering Monks, Gua Sha and Stone Medicine, as well as various detoxification strategies.
I am always evolving both personally and professionally, and I’m motivated by seeing what more is possible. Therefore, I never stop learning or seeking expansive opportunities. I am always reading at least three books at any given time on topics that benefit humanity, I am typically enrolled in some sort of online learning program, and I do countless hours of online research and study about human health and wellbeing. I am most inspired by nature and perpetually interested in how we, as humans, fit into it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a smooth road along the way, but a slow one. It wasn’t until I really figured out what styles of acupuncture most resonated with me, as well as what provided my patients with the most consistent beneficial results, did I really start to thrive professionally. I went from treating a couple of patients per day to 15 a day, with a waitlist in about a year’s time.
As you know, we’re big fans of Integrative Lifecare Acupuncture. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I named my practice Integrative Lifecare because that is literally what I provide my patients with: holistic care that integrates with the rest of their lives. I provide Acupuncture, Reflexology, Nutritional Guidance, Supplemental & Herbal Preparations, LED Light Therapy, Infrared Sauna Therapy, Gua Sha, Cupping, Specialized Traditional Bodywork, Healing & Protective Gemstones and Jewelry, and Biogeometry, which is space harmonization, in which I do housecalls and/or office visits.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I absolutely love what I do and feel blessed to be able to do it.
