Karen, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always wanted to have my own business. Watching my father being his own boss my whole life has been a motivation to take after him. I’ve always loved surfing and the ocean and knew I had to get creative and stay around it. Being a professional surfer made things a lot easier for me to start my business. Starting off as a surf instructor for other brands/ companies, taking all the pieces of information I could from different resources for months, and putting it all together like a puzzle with my own KJ signature touch.
Heaven on earth consists of 5 stars all around. From the most talented and experienced, certified instructors – to permits in the best locations, California’s most beautiful beaches. Goals to have the highest quality of surfing equipment only. We deal with the best brands in the business. Our goal, is not just to give you a semi-comfortable wetsuit, throw you on a foamboard and push you on waves. Our goal is to have you fitted into the highest quality wetsuit for your ultimate comfort and best surfing experience, we will assign you a board that is made for your height and weight. Our surfboards come from the best company in the business, as previously stated. Heaven on earth has a large inventory of surfboards, being ready for all and any costumers, little small, 3-99+ years old. “we can and will handle anyone”.
We offer 1, 1.5 & 2 hour lessons. We spend the first 30-40 minutes in land, getting you physically and mentally prepared to hit the water. We will explain all safety rules and standards, surfing basics, steps to “pop up” and tips to make you’re surfing lesson an unforgettable experience.
Heaven on earth consists of a small family, business owner Karen Jacobson who handles most of the bookings, customer service, business decisions & etc., 6 surf instructors, 1 head instructor / coach, and 1 manager. All instructors are CPR AED & first aid certified, also surfing & stand up paddle instructing certified. This is one of heaven on earth’s highest standards. “we require all instructors to be highly trained and to have all of the necessary certifications. We need our instructors to know how to handle certain situations, we are always prepared for the best, and ready for the worst.” – says business owner, Karen Jacobson. All of heaven on earth’s instructors are highly experienced surfers and ocean masters, and business owner Karen Jacobson, guarantees your surfing experience could not get better surfing with heaven on earth.
We have the necessary permits & insurance to operate in Santa Monica Bay, Malibu beaches and Ventura County. Our business hours are 7 days a week, 6am to 6pm. Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Santa Monica is best known for its nice, beautiful beaches and cute – in the wall restaurants. Great to take a surfing lesson, then explore this town and grab a great bite to eat afterwards. Not to mention all the old and cool looking buildings. There’s definitely a lot to look at, especially when surfing.
Malibu is just beautiful and speaks for itself. Its breath taking beaches will make anyone get in the ocean. Specially to surf.
