Meet Karen Babiak of Viral Booth in Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karen Babiak.

Karen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It all started with an old photo strip that has hung on my bedroom mirror for years. It’s photo strip of me and my husband Peter, and our children Shanna and Todd, making funny faces and having fun in a photo booth. I have smiled at the photo every single day and think about the love and fun times we’ve shared. So, in 2016, when I was offered the opportunity to take over Viral Booth, I couldn’t pass it up. I had a long career in the corporate world in marketing and business operations, and was ready to move on and build my own business focused on love, family and fun. So, Viral Booth was a perfect fit.

Soon after I took over the business, my daughter Shanna, joined me as my partner and sales director and the business has taken off!

Viral Booth was founded in 2012 and was one of the first social media equipped photo booths on the market. When I took over the business we had 8 photo booths and just this week we reached 13 booths that do everything from photos to videos and Gifs. We’re a unique booth because you can upload all the fun photos to social media right from the screen that snaps your pose. We have a wonderful team of photo booth hosts and orchestrate more than 600 events a year, everything from parties and weddings to huge corporate events. We’re partners with venues, DJs, event planners, photographers and more from northern Los Angeles to San Diego.

Has it been a smooth road?
The event planning industry is huge in Los Angeles and beyond, so the road has been challenging and fun. Our biggest challenge is meeting the demand for photo booths. Every event from weddings to parties, Quinceaneras, reunions, sporting events, wants a photo booth because it’s really perfect, affordable entertainment. That’s why we keep adding booths as fast as we can. We never turn anyone away and we offer a booth for every budget.
