Meet Kailey Hutter of BLND Public Relations in Hermosa Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kailey Hutter.

Kailey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been a very creative person, and enjoyed taking photos and writing stories from a really young age! I majored in Communication Studies in college, and from there was directed to various internships in Public Relations and Digital Marketing where I was able to hone in on these skills and talents. I became passionate about social media management when I discovered that each brand and organization had its own, unique voice and aesthetic on social media. Developing and perpetuating brand personalities, and then converting that into happy and engaged followers became both challenging and fun!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have definitely faced some struggles, especially when it came to learning the ropes of the unique industry. Since the world of social media is relatively new, I discovered early on that there really was no textbook right or wrong way to manage and grow social media accounts. I truly had to learn by a process of trial and error what worked and what didn’t. Even now, my biggest challenge is staying on top of every new trend in this ever-changing digital arena. It’s so crazy how quickly technology moves!

BLND Public Relations – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
BLND Public Relations is a boutique PR and Digital Marketing agency in Los Angeles. We work with a variety of lifestyle brands from all different industries. I specialize in running their organic and paid social media – completing the process from content creation and community management to analytical reporting and strategy development. I am proud of how supportive and collaborative my coworkers are, we are great about celebrating little successes and helping each other out when needed. From a client’s perspective, I think that BLND is unique in that we really are a one-stop-shop for brands that want to be known and loved. We take a holistic approach and hit any and all angles to make brands stand out.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Whenever I get to work with a new client and turn their brand story and goals into a visual, tangible social media strategy, I feel like I am really accomplishing something meaningful. So many brands have amazing products and services to offer but need help creating an approachable, relatable, and trendy social media presence. This is where I come in, and whenever a brand is happy with their results and growth, I am so proud!
