Meet Justin Cheadle of Loyal to the Lifestyle in Downey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Cheadle.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It wasn’t until the end of a three year NFL career that I decided it was time to make my health, wellness, and fitness a priority in my life. I weighed 330 pounds (which served me as an offensive lineman) and knew that in order to lose the 100 pounds I wanted to shed, I was going to have to change my entire lifestyle.

My personal journey of weight loss and complete body transformation is what inspired me to start the “Loyal to the Lifestyle” brand and support others on their fitness journey.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I have had to learn to set boundaries with friends and family because it can be really easy to fall back into old habits. I also had to build my brand from nothing – so every single day I had to be vulnerable and share my struggles on the journey, in order to build credibility and gain a following on the path. It’s been a lot of hard work. I’ve done a ton of self-reflection. I wanted to quit so many times, but knowing that I was making a difference in the lives of others is what honestly has always kept me going.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Loyal to the Lifestyle story. Tell us more about the business.
Loyal to the Lifestyle (LTL) is a fitness brand that promotes embracing a lifestyle of health and wellness. We don’t believe in extreme diets or work out plans that don’t encourage a day off – its all about getting to know your body, learning what works for you, and embracing everything that allows you to feel good on this fitness journey! We offer boot camps, speed and strength training for teams, individual training and nutrition plans, and merchandise for purchase. We are most proud of our committed followers who inspire us every day. As the founder of LTL, I know what it feels like to be severely overweight and uncertain about my future. I faced my fears and found a way to reach my goals, both physically and mentally. With my personal journey as the foundation for the ways that I serve our community, I can say without a doubt that no matter where someone is on their path – I have been there too. This gives me the confidence and credibility that I can help others reach their most challenging goals!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I think the industry continues to get bigger and bigger and sometimes it feels so saturated, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. There is a constant pressure to differentiate yourself. Over the next 5-10 years, I see the industry shifting towards a more holistic approach. I think our work out programs will embrace other therapeutic modalities and will promote a stronger integration between your physical body and your mental health.
