Meet Julie Hovsepian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Hovsepian.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born & raised in Los Angeles, to an Armenian family who immigrated and created roots for us to grow in Hollywood. It’s been a really cool experience to grow up in a city with so many transients and seekers but feel so grounded. The entertainment industry was so prevalent growing up here, I ended up spending over a decade as an exec in the music industry – at one of the biggest record labels called Interscope Records. I led marketing for major artists, traveled the world – while working in a space that was such a fine line between work and fun so it typically had no beginning or end.

After a very fulfilling yet super intense career, the universe intervened and gave undeniable signs to start my calling as a wellness advocate. I helped launch an amazing superfood cafe called Beaming and their several locations in LA and started a wellness retreat company. After several encounters with healers, that I wasn’t seeking at the time, a mutual friend introduced me to my teacher Alessandro Giannetti, of Guided Light Healing, and my life completely changed in every way possible – he encouraged me to discover my innate skills in working with energy as a healing modality and confirmed my soul calling/path in this life. After a powerful training with him and so many other teachings along the way, I have spent the last few years helping people through intuitive guidance and energetic healings to empower them with tools to navigate and live their best life… all while blasting good music every moment of every day! Currently can’t stop listening to Ry X, James Blake, Cloves, Borns, Rogov and my boys in Magic Giant x.

Please tell us about your art.
I love leading energetic healings for people. It makes me so happy to get these clear downloads through meditation and get super creative on new ideas for healings and new, beautiful journeys to guide people through for an awesome visual experience that leaves you totally rejuvenated. My work isn’t hands on so I work through guiding light energy through people’s bodies and energy fields to impact change to help them feel better, or ideally great, again. My skill allows me to do this work just as effectively as distance (so it could be for someone across the world or someone down the block without us being in the same room) but I do love to be in person when it allows for it. The inspiration – my website is called in a golden state: I’ve always loved the saying feeling golden (especially as an LA girl!). For me, living in a golden state is living in your light. The more you shine from the inside out, the more you are able to help others around you shine. The more we’re able to raise the vibrations of everyone around us, the more we’re able to affect major change together.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
The wellness space has become such a focus right now and I think it’s incredible. There is so much attention and access to alternative health and healing around the world. The amazing part about this space to me is that there is so much room for people to grow and prosper as practitioners because the majority of the world needs such deep healing. For people to provide it in so many various modalities is so important, and we are so lucky to live in a city like LA where people are very open to this light work and are typically 1 degree away from a great recommendation when they need it. There are over 7.8 billion people on the planet and everyone needs someone they can relate to, that speaks their spiritual language, and it’s just about opening minds and hearts by someone who makes it digestible for you. The more people start to become conscious about how everything we do is affecting the world and everyone around us, the more we can have people start to thrive instead of survive. It takes teamwork and support so finding your community in this city that makes you feel good and your voice heard is key.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I lead a weekly public Beyond Meditation class every Wednesday from 12:30-1pm PST at The School of Guided Light Healing that’s within RPM Fitness Studio in Studio City. It’s a 30-minute recharge that includes a unique theme and guided meditation each week. This class is also available via live stream so people can join as a break from work, or anywhere around the world.

I am also leading events regularly around LA – I have been focusing on these really fun collaborative Full Moon events and Sound Healing events but have some other new ideas in the works that will be available soon as well!

Creativity and creating is so important to me and this work that I do so I am constantly fueled to continue to take it to another level and have fun with it. I offer private sessions for deeper one on one work. I also have a few retreats coming up this year, including my 3rd annual one in Juneau Alaska in June! Everything is updated regularly on my website and on Instagram and Facebook.
