Meet JuliAnn Stitick of Your Success Style in La Canada

Today we’d like to introduce you to JuliAnn Stitick.

JuliAnn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was destined to be an entrepreneur. I come from a legacy of business owners in the Southern California area, and I’ve always wanted to work for myself, so I can call all the shots in my life. As a little girl, I ran lemonade stands, sold Girl Scout Cookies and found many ways to exercise my entrepreneurial muscle.

As a kid, I loved watching commercials on television. I curiously studied each one to ascertain how they attracted their customers. While most kids were interested in what toy was being offered in the cereal box, I was (unbeknownst to me at the time) trying to figure out how they were making a connection with their viewers.

Fast forward, I quit college after two years and just shy of my associate’s degree because I did not have the patience to sit in a classroom.  I was antsy! I wanted to be out experiencing the business world and finding a way to success that was unique to me.

I had two, what I call, J-O-B’s that equipped me for the personal branding business I began 23 years ago. I worked for a boutique luxury real estate firm doing their marketing and branding and loved it, but I wanted to be doing something that was more meaningful to me personally.

My next position was with Nordstrom as a lead personal stylist. I loved the work and seeing my clients glow with confidence was incredibly rewarding, but I knew I was destined to do something on a much broader scale. After leaving Nordstrom, I began speaking for women groups, teaching the power of personal presence and its impact on success.

A woman approached me after one presentation and asked me if I worked with clients individually. I gave her a resounding yes, and on a dime, Your Success Style was born. I was able to blend my skills of marketing, branding, and image with my lifelong interest in human communication, neuroscience, and personal development to build a business I continue to love each day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
To be sure, I’ve had my challenges! I recall telling my husband one day that I wanted someone else to run the operations of my business so I could spend my time doing what I loved most… working personally with clients.  It takes thick skin to run a business, and I have an incredibly sensitive heart, so there was quite a learning curve there. Thankfully, I have an operations manager now so I spend my time living in my zone of excellence.

I don’t dwell on the struggles. My mindset has always been essential in positioning those ‘struggles’ as key learning experiences that will make me wiser and ultimately more successful. If I’m not failing, I’m not reaching far enough. My philosophy is to focus on the vision I have for my life and think, speak and act forward towards that vision.

I also have mentors and coaches that walk through the challenges with me and encourage me all the way… even it that means a kick in the butt!

Your Success Style – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our niche is very specific to purpose-driven leaders.  Our approach to personal branding begins with personal development. Building a personal brand is an intimate project because most people, regardless of their success or status, have a fear of being fully visible. Our philosophy is that when they hold back and are afraid to fully put themselves out there, they are neglecting the single most powerful element of their brand which is simply to be themselves and be real.

Most people brand themselves as they are at the moment or work with experts who don’t take the time to get to know them, much less help them grow personally. Our work begins with helping people trust themselves to be visible. As we continue to elevate their confidence, we map out the vision they have for their life, and reverse engineer building a brand that will accelerate achieving that vision.

Over time, we recognized the power of utilizing the business owner’s personal brand as the DNA for their culture and customer experience so we extended our work to customizing training and workshops for brands that want to create a community of their team and customers, using their products and services as instruments in making a positive impact in the world. Our clients/audiences are Lexus, Nordstrom, Disney, Caruso Affiliated, LAPD, Keller Williams, VISTAGE, Oscar and Golden-Globe winning artists, and thousands of accomplished business owners.

Personally, I am most in my element as a motivational speaker who connects with women of all ages because our journeys are the same, it’s the details that are different. I believe it is my responsibility to share my rocky and victorious personal journey to encourage and inspire them. I teach simple strategies to implement actions that shift how they feel about themselves and create lasting change for generations.

I am a three-time author and my book Purpose Crisis: Stop the Inner Struggle, Find Your Life’s Meaning & Reveal The Magnificent You Who’s Ready to be Seen is an honest look at the hurts and challenges in my life and how I have been resilient through it all. It has touched women deeply. I’ve received hundreds of messages telling me how my transparency has helped them heal, move beyond their roadblocks, and into a life with purpose and self-care at the center. That is the paycheck for my heart.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is my life’s purpose running consistently through my personal and professional life. Success is spending my time living out my purpose by inspiring and equipping others to see themselves and their purpose as their contribution towards making the world whole.

Success is having the financial freedom to experience life fully and give back!
