Meet Jeremy Westerbeck of JP Westerbeck Photography in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Westerbeck.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I was a kid, I enjoyed playing sports but as I got older I found that athletes were getting better and I needed another way to participate in what I like doing. So when I was a junior in high school I took a photography class and I enjoyed it. During my junior year, I decided to start my photography company with my classmate, Hunter Simmons. Together we expanded our company to focus on sports like Football, Baseball, Soccer, Softball, Basketball, and Golf. Then my Senior Year, I became the team photographer for the Football Team. I took pictures at all the games for football and went to some of the practices to take pictures. Towards the end of the football season, I started hiring people and made new jobs like Advertising, Sponsorship, Recruiting, Social Media, and Photography. After Football season, I took pictures for Girls Soccer and Boys and Girls Basketball. After I did Soccer and Basketball. I went on to take pictures for the Baseball Team and Softball Team. For the Softball Team, I did banners for the Seniors and they got put up in the parking lot in front of the Softball Field at Huntington Beach High School. For the Baseball team, it was fun this season with Nick Pratto and Hagen Danner and getting to take pictures of them their last year of high school before going into the pros. I got to travel with the Baseball Team to the USA Baseball NHSI Tournament in North Carolina in March and take pictures at Angel Stadium. In April, my company started the reporter staff it turned out to be a really good part of the company with Brett Houck interviewing people on the JP Westerbeck Photography staff to Justin Brodt and Cory Moore doing a great job on the Varsity Baseball interviews starting with the Boras Classic to Lucas Catano doing the Freshman Baseball Interviews. Then after the interviews, I would put them on Twitter and Facebook. I use Social Media a lot to market my company. Social Media has helped me grow my staff and followers. My company also uses Snapchat which allows people to take over each day and at the end of the month I have an All Star Week that allows the best of that month to take over in the last week of each month with a playoff that decides who wins that month. Winner gets to go into the best of that year to go against the winners of each month.
