Meet Josh Lewis of LA’s First New Rock N Roll Band, “Anita Squeeze”

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Lewis.

Josh, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up in Hollywood, where I went to school with Slash, Tracii Guns, and many other successful musicians in Rock N Roll today. I was the original guitarist for multi-platinum artists, Warrant, which was born out of that same school. “Fairfax High”.

After being focused on improving my art for some time, I am now actively doing what I’ve always loved, Music! My new band, “Anita Squeeze” represents all I have been diligently working on, and the response has been amazing so far!!!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road! Being asked to leave a band that later goes on to sell millions of records, tours the world, and lives the dream that I worked just as hard for, is definitely not an easy experience. However, what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger, and I have always believed in myself. I love music so much that it’s a need for me, I have to do it,… wether I’m playing for thousands of people, or alone in my living room, it’s what I love to do! When you can play guitar, you always have a friend.

Please tell us more about your work.
My new band, Anita Squeeze is a Rock N Roll band with Classic Rock and a Hard Rock sound. We are known for having memorable songs that mean something more than your average pop song.

We are… Josh Lewis- Lead Vocals and Guitar

Neo – Bass and Backing Vocals

Brad Watson- Keyboards and Backing Vocals

Christos- Drums

I think what sets us apart, is the songs. We put a lot of energy into creating dynamic songs with melody, angst, and hooks.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
That’s a great question! Growing up in Hollywood was an amazing experience, with so many great memories and so many great friends…, but my favorite memories were just being at home in the evenings watching tv with my mom and dad, who are both no longer with us. I wish I could go back to that house, and lay on the same couch, with my mother sitting on the opposite side near my feet, and my dad sitting in his chair.
