Meet Joseph Crapanzano of La Panzano Gourmet in Santa Ana

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Crapanzano.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Joseph. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my journey in NYC & Miami with restaurants and gourmet shops. While vacationing in California and sampled the local Italian food I felt I can put out a superior product than most. Instead of spending my last $200.00 on a ticket home I decided to buy my website and run a test menu during the 2016 holiday season. From that point on the rest is history. We took off running and haven’t stopped. From corporate events to backstage at the Grammy’s we have done in all in a very short period of time and it’s all based on the passion of our food.

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part it’s been smooth, but one area of struggle if I had to name one is the competition doesn’t like an outsider from NYC taking business away from the established caterers.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the La Panzano Gourmet story. Tell us more about the business.
La Panzano Gourmet is a full service catering company specializing in corporate clients as well as weddings, music and studio catering, private events and party’s. We specialize in Mediterranean Italian fusion cuisine, with a flair for the extraordinary. We are known for our customer service where no matter who the client is we treat you like family. From Karma Fisker to the everyday Joe looking for a private anniversary event your one of the family. After all family is first.

I’ve been involved Clubs and restaurants in both NYC & Miami. Multi-million Dollar establishments, but they took loans, investors, banks, and regulators. What I’m most proud of is that this company took only our last $200 and hard work and determination to succeed in a new place. My wife and I took a shot and in life you need to do that sometimes. I owe everything to her.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The catering industry changes yearly. More people are in to eating healthy, becoming foodies, and hosting parties. I see the industry becoming more mainstream and versatile with adapting to accepting clients both 1 to 1000. The trend currently is Mediterranean and I’m hoping it stays that way but like life itself we will adapt with the times and always absorb what we can in any cuisines.
