Meet John Khosravi

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Khosravi.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I fell into Immigration Law because after law school because an Immigration Attorney was looking for some help. I fell in love with the practice and the people involved who are from all sorts of backgrounds.

I eventually started my own firm with the goal of providing individual concierge service to foreign nationals marrying US people, investors, and people with extraordinary ability and talents. I spent a lot of time studying the law and eventually was able to teach at Loyola and Pepperdine Law Schools in Los Angeles. At the same time, I started a training program to help immigration lawyers learn and keep up with the law (as well as how to market their practices). Finally, I just launched a Non-Profit called The Migration Foundation (MigrationFoundation.org) to increase public education and awareness on global migration.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is hard and took a lot of study, trial and error before I was able to get the business going. Moreover, the government has become more difficult, making the lives of migrants extremely difficult. It is a challenging area of law to work on.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
The JQK Law Firm is known for individualized attention. Clients can call me whenever they want (almost) and their cases are always a top priority. I also spent my free time and have made it my hobby to on top of the most recent changes in the law and the nuances that can help my clients.

I am proud of my clients’ satisfaction of my work that shows through the heartfelt reviews they leave.

Also, to help lift up and contribute to my field, I have had a podcast where I regularly update colleagues on changes to the law, as well as promoting great colleagues.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is a major global hub with a lot of economic activity, so a person that is business-minded and uses modern marketing methods should be able to get a start.
