Meet Jimmy Darling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy Darling.

Jimmy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After growing up as a two sports athlete, I took a leap and decided to enroll in a Theatre Arts my freshman year of high school. I spent two years battling between whether I wanted to pursue a baseball or football career full-time or begin a new journey in Theatre. 8-ish years later, now I’m a full-time actor in Los Angeles doing exactly what I love and I hope to continue doing it for the rest of my life.

Has it been a smooth road?
Most of my struggles came in high school when I was deciding whether I wanted to do theatre or play sports. Coaches, friends, teammates, etc. all made that decision harder for me; I didn’t want to let anybody down. But I soon realized that I’d only be letting myself down if I didn’t take the leap I wanted to and I dove headfirst into theatre.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Something that I take very seriously as an actor is the idea that I can continue to learn and develop my craft no matter how much experience I have. I approach every opportunity as a student of the art and continue to “add tools to my belt,” as I’ve heard many theatre teachers tell me plenty of times.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Los Angeles is the best place in the world for actors to settle in if they could afford it. If I could improve anything it’d be but just about anyone would argue regardless of location (though it fits pretty handily for Los Angeles) is housing prices and TRAFFIC.
