Meet Jessa Zapor-Gray of uck-off

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessa Zapor-Gray.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Colorado and moved to Southern California about six years ago. The idea for uck-off came to me a couple of years ago because my phone was making me break out and about a year ago, I decided to try making cleaning wipes. I worked with great people to refine the formula and materials to make something simple, but, I believe, better than anything else on the market for cleaning a touchscreen.

Before starting uck-off, I did product development and communications in consumer electronics and then moved into the same roles in the music industry. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my background in consumer tech and product development. I think once you see how something is made, it makes it less scary, it makes the process less daunting.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
What road is smooth? The hardest part of anything is the first step. The more risks you take, the easier it is to take the risk. I never want to be a person who doesn’t try something out of fear of the unknown. No matter how much you plan, you will always be caught off guard by something. The important thing in any project is to stay focused on the end goal and adjust as necessary. But getting started is always the hardest part of anything.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with uck-off – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I use my phone and iPad and Apple Watch for everything. I am that person. 100%. I am also a lover of things being clean. I had some skin issues that were cleared up by cleaning my phone more regularly. A clean phone is good for your skin, but also essential to your overall health. For many of us, what do we touch the most? Our screens!

The problem I found with the screen cleaning products on the market was that they were not travel friendly, did not contain any effective ingredients, would leave my devices with wet streaks, and were not made with materials I was happy about.

So I wrote a list of what I wanted and used my electronics product development background to go to work. With uck-off, I am proud to say that I have made no compromises on what I wanted. An on-the-go cleaning wipe, that uses a screen-safe alcohol formula, made with eco-conscious materials, that won’t leave my phone wet. Everyone has a touchscreen they need to take care of. I think uck-off is the best way to do it. I made it because I wanted it, and I use it.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have some great products currently in development that I think people are going to love. Especially the travelers among us. I’m looking forward to being able to travel again, so it’s back to where the first uck-off product came from. What is something I want for me? Because if I want it, other people probably want it too.

But for now, the uck-off wipe for the tech you touch is getting a great response. It really is essential for anyone with touchscreen anything. You need uck-off. How many people do you know have a touchscreen of some kind? They need uck-off too!
