Meet Jeremy Julian of Custom Business Solutions in Irvine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Julian.

Jeremy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The company started back in the late 80’s selling cash registers, incorporated in 1994 as a POS Value Added Reseller and has grown ever since. 7 Years ago, we went from being a VAR into a full software development house writing POS software for a multitude of restaurants. We have always focused on the restaurant vertical.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been tons of challenges over the years. Software and restaurants are difficult business. Getting quality people to assist our clients in the restaurant space is always hard. The economic downturn in 2008, we lost over 50% of our committed business due to the economic issues outside of our control.

Custom Business Solutions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are the go to for restaurant technology in Southern California. The culture of taking care of the clients and the staff that we have to execute that is what has helped us grow over the years. Servicing our clients’ needs and being able to mold our business practices to meet their needs has been a huge part of our success.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade? Our industry is changing as many are within technology. We will continue to grow our own software business while maintaining our existing VAR relationship. Expanding our presence nationally and internationally with our North Star platform.
