Meet Jennifer Ramos of Women in Touch SCV

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Ramos.

Jennifer, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my career in marketing in 2002 with the Los Angeles Daily News, and I have worked with The Signal SCV, The Antelope Valley Press, Santa Clarita Valley Living Magazine, The Gazette and now, The Magazine of Santa Clarita. Working in the news industry keeps me close to the heartbeat of local networking & community events.

I enjoyed everything I attended and was able to connect with many people who are still in my circle, yet I felt something was missing. I longed for a group that would help with both personal & professional growth while aligning with other local businesses. That’s when I was invited to gather with a few ladies to discuss the feasibility of a mastermind/networking group for ladies only… and so, Women in Touch was born.

We have met every first Thursday since February of 2012 and expanded to the Antelope Valley area in 2015 with potentially more cities and states on the way. In August of 2014, I created JR Social Conduit, a social media management company so that I could work independently helping other businesses during flexible hours so I can be available for Women in Touch.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This has been a road full of blessings and hiccups, we are constantly evolving and have overcome many issues. We have found out suddenly the week before an event that a location is closing the doors (more than once). Thanks to the support of the women and businesses within our community this has been an opportunity to grow myself as a business owner while lifting others at the same time.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Women in Touch SCV story.
I am literally halfway between Women in Touch & JR Social Conduit. They say I have a split personality and one of me can help you! As the leader of Women in Touch, I connect women with tools & resources to give them the life and business they deserve. As JR Social Conduit, I help local businesses with marketing and getting more organic reach out of their social media.

One of the many things that makes Women in Touch unique is the fact that we are an open category, so we can learn from each other. One of my proudest Women in Touch moments was when I saw a subscriber who had joined because her therapist recommended us for inspiration!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t know if I would consider whether luck has played a role in anything… I like to call it faith. Neither of my businesses is faith-based, but I am a believer in God. You can call it a higher power or whatever you want, but everyone has to have something to believe in, even if it’s yourself. I feel that when I “Give it up to God” the universe ends up putting the right people or what I need at the time in my path.
