Meet Jennifer and Linda Harris of The Zuri Pet Spa & Resort in San Juan Capistrano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer and Linda Harris.

Jenn has been an animal lover her entire life. From the time she was very young, she has owned dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, horses, goats, and everything in between. One of her first jobs was at an animal boarding and daycare facility, at which she quickly excelled. In 2007, Jennifer decided she wanted to learn to groom pets. Shortly after learning to groom, she decided she would like to become a mobile groomer, so she & her dad built a grooming trailer from the ground up and her business quickly took off. In 2010, Jenn brought her expertise to a stationary storefront and that is when her mother Linda joined her to help answer phones & run the pet spa. In 2014, she fulfilled her dream and expanded to include not only grooming but also lodging, day care and training. She, along with her Dad & Mom, worked hard & built the business into what it is today. She is a lover of giant breed dogs while Linda is a lover of the tiny breeds. She is currently enjoying her growing family of Spanish Mastiffs. Although she has always been involved with rescuing dogs & cats, she officially formed a 501c nonprofit, The Zuri Pet Rescue, in 2015. To this date, 100’s of pets, including a few horses, have been rescued through this effort. It has become a very rewarding experience, especially when the rescues become clients. Expanding in 2014 has been a very rewarding and exciting journey. Both Jennifer & Linda feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful industry and consider all the Zuri Pet Spa & Resort client’s family.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Has it been a smooth road? Nothing is really a smooth road in life. But the rewards are great and doing something you absolutely love can’t be beat. Working with animals is truly the most amazing & rewarding career.

We specialize in high-end care to give our pet parents true peace of mind when they are away. Their pets come home with a smile. 🙂 What sets us apart from other facilities like ours is our accommodations & customer service. Our accommodations are beautifully designed & roomy, where multiple family pets can be very comfortable. Our pet parents and the fur children are completely happy and satisfied.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The Zuri Pet Rescue was started officially in 2015. The Zuri Pet Spa & Resort has housed many rescues while waiting for their forever homes. Our community has helped with the various needs of these pets also. Some of these pets have not had an easy life but then to see the life they lead now, with amazing pet parents being loved & well cared for, could not be more satisfying. When a rescue becomes a client, then that is what is most rewarding – to watch that pet grow & have an amazing life.
