Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Copher.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I worked for various agencies for a number of years as a developer, marketer, and designer. After being fully emerged in the three main service offerings of a digital agency, I decided that it was time for me to take the next leap to become a founder. At the beginning of 2017, I started Oprette, which is a full-service digital agency with a focus on forward-thinking design, cutting-edge development, and innovative marketing solutions.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been far from a smooth road. As a founder, you are fully invested in the success and failure of your business. You don’t get to clock out at 5 pm Monday through Friday, nor do you get to completely check out on Saturday and Sunday. Your business becomes a part of you that you carry at all times.

That being said, the emotional attachment, coupled with the ups and downs of a startup, is the largest obstacle that I have experienced. Being able to persevere through the rocky moments is what facilitates progress. As any successful entrepreneur will tell you, success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes a willingness to fail, and learn from those failures, to truly achieve success.

At a more granular level, I would say that client acquisition has been one of the largest roadblocks I have experienced. When you start a company, nobody knows who you are. You won’t exist without rolling up your sleeves and aggressively promoting your brand.

There are thousands of digital agencies out there, so we have really had to paint a picture of what sets us apart from the others.

When it comes to client acquisition, I have learned some valuable lessons. One of which is: In the beginning, don’t sell yourself short, but don’t be afraid to take one on the chin to acquire clients. If your product or service is solid they will stick around, they will refer you clients, and they will pay their bills on time!

This is an incredibly competitive space, so offer something that sets you apart from all the others, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes; just learn from them.

Oprette is a boutique digital agency that creates sophisticated, yet forward thinking web products. We also grow businesses through digital client acquisition and user growth.

We provide the personal service of a smaller firm, with the talent of a large scale agency.

Our focus is on quality, over quantity, so our clients don’t just become a number, they become part of our family. Our business model allows us to provide a ready team of experts in all facets of the digital space. From industry-leading designers and accomplished engineers to innovative marketers and extensive media connections, our team can handle it all.

We are in the process of shifting our focus to the cosmetic procedures industry (plastic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and cosmetic dentistry). This industry is lacking a progressive design firm that also provides innovative marketing solutions, and we intend to fill that void. A full brand overhaul is underway, so stay tuned!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Client relationships and retention is by far the most important factor to our success.

Establishing a healthy and successful client relationship creates a snowball effect of new business through word of mouth and referrals.

As long as you are able to manage realistic client expectations in the early stages of your relationship, you will not fall subject to outrageous demands, nor will there be any need for unnecessarily terminated relationships.

Realistic expectations and quality products/services are the best recipes for a healthy client relationship, which leads to success.
