Meet Jeff Garner of Prophetik in Malibu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Garner.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began designing clothing for my mates in music bands in Nashville then came out to Malibu to attend Pepperdine University and started working with Barry Manilow, Fleetwood Mac and Donna Summer. Then started up Prophetik making Sustainable wearable collections as I saw a need for non-toxic clothing. As a designer, I felt a calling to only make something that did not hurt the environment or other humans. I am currently still designing Prophetik and showcasing the Sustainable Couture Collections all of the world just recently at London Fashion week where I launched my intimates collection Wolf X Rose and my dinnerware collection with Thomas Goode in London.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life is full of struggles that makes one stronger. In Fashion it is a constant strife to prove yourself over and over again. Design and creation can never be forced it must flow. Merging commercial and art is always a fine balance and often never has perfect synergy. Attempting to blaze a new path in sustainable design 18 years ago was a feat I had no idea how deep that jungle was. Today is a new day with Sustainability and I hope that endeavor of the journey will help lead to more shifts in the industry.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Prophetik – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a Sustainable design house that specializes in unique plant-based fabrics and dyes. Prophetik is the couture design label and Wolf X Rose is our sustainable intimates collection.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am planning to broaden our Sustainable intimates collection to include women’s briefs and bras. The idea is to problem solve all the wearable clothes that one may need to have a non-toxic option. It is one thing to bring awareness and another to solve it.
