Meet Jazmine Niicole

today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmine Niicole.

Jazmine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am an up and coming rap artist and songwriter. I also just started a clothing line called “flourish-l.a.” I am in the process of expanding my music and fashion brand across Los Angeles County, then eventually across the states. I started my pursuit as an entertainer as a child. I have always shown an interest in performing arts, so my mother did her best to keep me involved.

In my late teenage years, I was involved in a female rap group, which didn’t last very long. My cousin was my manager. After the group ended I kept pursuing music, but it took a while to get fully consistent as I went through a few personal roadblocks, that kind of kept me distracted.

My brand is slowly but surely rising in the L.A. area and it took extreme dedication and confidence to get where I am. I am more certain of my journey at this time and not afraid of throwing myself out there. Those are one of the fundamentals that it takes.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Lol. It has been extremely hard, and I haven’t even fully got in the door yet. Being a female artist has been such a struggle in this male-dominated industry. You have to go above and beyond to prove you deserve respect in the game.

Men tend to look at females in the industry sexually before they look at them professionally. I have lost a lot of people I thought were important to me, because I discovered they weren’t who they said they would be. This journey is so exhausting, but it is also so rewarding to see my vision coming to life. When you put your hope in others, you are more likely to get disappointed.

Another one of the biggest challenges I have faced was believing in myself, like one hundred percent. Once you believe you don’t care who decides to help you or not. Your belief is so strong that you know the universe will conspire to make your dreams come true. All you have to do is work hard and trust the process.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a rap artist, songwriter, and entertainer. I have recently started a clothing line as well. My vision is for my music to grow alongside with my merchandise. I want people to appreciate the art I put into my music and clothes. I am proud of how persistent I have been.

People are starting to recognize me more and more as a rap artist because despite how hard and slow the process has been, I have not given up. I am trusting my process and letting it lead me to the right place.

My experiences, my own personal struggle sets me apart. My vision sets me apart because it is mine. I have learned to trust it, fall in love with it. Being a visionary can be scary, but I have learned to enjoy the feeling. I have learned to be as true to myself as I can, and it won’t be hard to set myself apart.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is pushing through, it is beating the odds, it is to keep going even when you feel like giving up. Success is making something possible even when you may have felt it couldn’t happen because the dream felt too far away.

Success is coming up with an idea and executing it, it is taking action, moving through with confidence to complete a goal. Success is dedication and hard work, and its one of the most gratifying feelings ever!
