Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaymill Cornelius.
Hi Jaymill, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started taking Twitch live-streaming and content creating after I lost my job due to Covid-19. I was told “if I left work, I’d be fired”. During my time dealing with the virus, I wanted to provide entertainment, positivity, and a safe place to be for everyone of all ages during the shutdowns. My streams are all about community so the viewers are always a part of the stream. At the end of every stream, we do an anonymous talk where viewers can express their experiences, thoughts or even just say kind words to the rest. Earlier this year, I started a group called The 3xNetwork, which is composed of myself, 1800Bari, & UhhFaytal. Between the three of us, there’s years of knowledge in all different mediums of content creation. The Network was made to showcase the talent of creators worldwide. Anyone from live streamers to musically talented creators can come directly to us for any type or help, advise, or even have us play a part in their content if they’re nervous. Nothing is monetized at all. I created this to help make it easier for everyone to be the best version of themselves. When I started my content journey, I had no clue where to begin. The Network has played a part in millions of views the start of many creator’s careers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was long and full of dead ends. I’ve started and quit content creation over and over for the past 7 years. I didn’t know how much of a mental, financial, & physical toll starting from 0 would be. I wasn’t prepared. Life kind of forced me back to this journey. I didn’t start gaining traction until the pandemic hit and even now I’m still not amongst the top.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create! I’ve done different things like music and art but I love live-streaming. I’m primarily known for my loud, goofy, and carefree personality. I’m most proud of the community I’ve created and the people I’ve inspired to be themselves. I think my personality & transparency in my own personal life is what sets me apart. I’m not some entertainer that people watch. I don’t paint myself to be a perfect person. I’m a normal human. We’re a family. I know a little something about almost every viewer and try to get to know each one individually.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
The one thing that I tell everyone is just push record and be yourself. Don’t focus on if people will like it or not. There’s an audience for every single personality or activity that you are interested in and they will come. Just stay consistent and have fun with it every step of the way.
