Meet Jaymee Wins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaymee Wins.

Jaymee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m a Filipina lifestyle inspirational blogger and motivational podcaster based in San Diego, CA. I share my passion for healthy, simple, minimalist living and inspire people to appreciate life with my metastatic breast cancer survivorship. I’m also doing commercial modeling on the side with an agency representation in LA and San Diego.

I’m also known as “Jaymee Joaquin”, a former TV and movie personality in the Philippines. But as I was on my way to fame, I desired for anonymity and see what the world has to offer so I quit my job, packed my bags and traveled the world alone to experience freedom and adventure.

I visited 24 countries and lost count with cities! I was in Australia for a year, Spain for four years, and have just been in the US for five years. And then breast cancer hit me in 2016 which gave birth to my blogger name, “Jaymee WINS” as a positive self-reinforcement. In early 2019 and 2020, early metastases was caught which saved my life and I’ve been on preventative treatment until now. This experience led me to inspire people through my social media handles and a podcast show to live well, appreciate life and WIN their daily battles one day at a time, one step at a time.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not! Constantly getting hit by a health issue in a foreign country far away from my immediate family has been a challenge even until today. I’m still a work in progress as a blogger, podcaster and on camera talent but I’m enjoying the journey of discovering as to where this is gonna take me. America is a very competitive land so for my content to stand out, I have to stay persistent, patient and authentic which I’ve been learning to do.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a lifestyle inspirational blogger and motivational podcaster. I share my passion for healthy, minimalist and simple living through my written blog, YouTube and Instagram and have been working on attracting the right collaborations. I also host a podcast show called “WIN Your Daily Battles” to motivate people to WIN their daily battles one step at a time, one day at a time. I’m also a professional TV host in the Philippines and have been hosting live events in San Diego. And after surviving metastatic breast cancer, I would like to be given the opportunity to share my story and appreciation for life as a motivational speaker and life coach, which I’m still working on. And on the side, I do commercial, print and on camera work in California with formal training for commercial acting in LA and San Diego.

I’m super proud that I’m doing all of this even while going through a health challenge, being new in America and far away from my comfort zone, which is the Philippines. And my unique stories of struggles is, I believe, what sets me apart from the rest because I work hard to make all of this to progress.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I’ve made so many good friends out of kind strangers while living here in California and I’m super grateful for all these people. I also give major credits to the Filipino American families who took me in like their own and made me feel at home in a foreign country. I also thank God for my medical team in UCSD for making sure my health is taken care of. And of course, to my loyal followers on social media, blog and podcast who stood by me through thick or thin and kept inspiring me to keep moving forward day by day.
