Meet Jay Schacher of Jay Schacher Creative Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Schacher.

Jay, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, as a youngster I was always an art and math guy but didn’t know how I could translate these skills into a career. In fact, it wasn’t until 4th-year university that I learned about digital design and in my post-grad year, I began to see how I could tell brand stories in a non-traditional, experiential way.

I started my career out as a Flash designer (I feel old writing that) and gradually stepped into a lead design role at various agencies for brands such as, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, LG, SiriusXM, Powerade, etc… 12 years later, I’ve become a craftsman of the digital space for designing websites, UI, platforms, mobile applications and just about anything that involves digital storytelling.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Peanut butter, shaving cream & Barry White. I consider these to be smooth.

In a highly competitive, oversaturated space, no career is ever smooth. Designers are a dime a dozen, the struggle is always keeping up with how we create and design projects that are more beautiful than the previous. You’re only as good as your last work.

Jay Schacher Creative Inc. – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Jay Schacher Creative Inc. consists of one very talented designer, art director and storyteller… me.

With over a decade of agency experience, I’m an award-winning art director, classically trained visual artist, and professional digital storyteller.

Aside from that, I’m easy to work with and I like to keep the conversation light. Fun fact, I’ve eaten 61 McNuggets in a single sitting.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I love what I do. Being able to create something that clients can share, brag about and show to the world is my version of success.
