Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Burton.
Jay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started getting passionate about health and fitness after my collegiate basketball career. Being an athlete fitness was always involved in my life but I never was interested in learning the body and how it works. I became a basketball coach and my players wanted me to start training them outside of practice and that’s what initially got me into focusing on how the body fully moves and works. From coaching basketball led into becoming a personal trainer which eventually sparked my move to LA 2 yrs ago to chase my passion and get my foot in the door with fitness modeling and commercial acting!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road but it has definitely been worth it. Taking the bumps and bruises that come with relocating and especially relocating to California helped build character and mental toughness you maybe didn’t know you had in at first. Just to name a few of the struggles along the way; (higher cost of living, finding new clients, not having transportation, reinventing myself and finding my niche).
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a personal trainer known as the core creator. I specialize in Core, Stability and Balance training. Most proud to be able to motivate and assist people with achieving their health and fitness goals.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has played a positive role in my life. From the stand point of I’ve been lucky to have great people in my life who push and encourage me to reach my full potential in life!
